Like I said last year, I don’t care who we draft and long as they have speed and skills. That’s all that matters. Unfortunately we didn’t really draft that last year except for Hotton.

i personally think we need a classy hard running outside mid and Duursma fits the bill for that... however we could have a unicorn in CDT if he gets better this year... if he uts on size we could have Pavlich 2.0

Massimo could be our Wizard we just need to clear a spot on our list

If CDT continues to improve and is that actual genuine top end mid, plus a decent or better ruck, then he would be a dream get. Add to the midfield depth and fills that ruck hole. We'll see, but he did look well above for football ability for his size.

If we get pick 1 and someone comes out as a fast highly skilled balanced mid we've stuck gold for the 2nd year in a row with the draft. Perfect for who we have. But a long way to go. A very long way.
He's not and never will be a top end mid. He'll only be a top pick if he shows real forward ability.

OK. I liked what I saw of his midfield ability. But as you are the guru I'll just take your word for it.

If we have and take 2 picks in the top 5 to the draft, would people rather go for best available mids x 2 or a mid and ruck Duff-Tytler?

What is Hustwaite worth? Our future 2nd or 3rd? Probably somewhere in between for mine.

F3 but probably throw an F4 in as well to cover his giraffe neck.

I genuinely have no idea who he is or how good he is. I had to google the campaigner tbh

For me it depends on north's pick if we have #1 and 4-5 pick. I'd take CDT and take an elite mid with the 2nd pick.

If North pick blows out to 8-10 I'd seriously consider best mid at 1. Reason is I think the difference between the top mids at this stage Greeves, Rodriguez, Duursma, Sharp, Lindsay are/ have more upside than those in the next tier like Onley, Cumming, Grlj.

That being said talent wise I'm not sure there is that great a difference between midfield tiers at this stage. Long way to go and it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out in the next few months.

The expectation was the Lindsay would move into the midfield in his top age season, and we got confirmation of that in the opening round of Talent League action. Lindsay was a strong influence at stoppage and contests, especially impressing without the footy with his defensive pressure and tackling. His typically elite disposal skills were perhaps a little rusty or effected by the windy conditions, but he did manage to lace out some damaging darts in the second half.

Unfortunately had to mute the audio again in this one due to the wind in the effects mic.

I might go through it later but how many rucks seek first ruck opportunities at other clubs and fail when they get the opportunity? It seems like there are more successes than failures.
