Potential Midfield Depth

Inside - Taranto Hopper Dow McAuliffe Prestia*

Outside - Ralphsmith Banks Trezise Clarke

Hybrid - Lalor Smillie Ross McIntosh* Sonsie Hotton

* - potential last year on list

Makes for interesting reading. On paper the number of players is adequate, but on performance there are a lot of unknowns with. Didn't list Campbell or Green as part of the mix, but both could become midfield options in the next 12-24 months.

What is clear though is that we need to add top quality talent to this group to bolster the group for that 2027 season when I expect we start to climb.

Then go with Balta in the Ruck or even someone like Fawcett who is agile for a big man

no offense but anyone suggesting balta as the main ruck/fwd is living in the past. the potential was cool and hype like 3 years ago until we finally got him as a fwd/ruck and it wasn't all that great compared to him down back, he just didn't seem natural there. like sure he can rarely kick his 55m goals but that's about it, he can also do that from the backline sometimes. we kinda screwed him around a bit there

Im not saying we should draft him all im saying is if the talent is that good you dont over look him
We could play Balta , miller , fawcett or even Kosi in that role but it doesnt answer the question thats being asked and duscussed .

Is he such a great talent that cannot be over looked and projects better than what we have on the list

Interesting? I’d say dire reading.

IMO we effectively have 2 guys I’d be comfortable throwing in our future centre bounce midfield (Lalor and Smillie) and 2 maybes (Hotton McAuliffe).

Like you said we need depth and quality in there in a bad way.

Two mids this year please.

If they have 2 picks they would go for Curtain / Rodriguez as WA top end talent

Yep. Positional value and opportunity cost.

Only have to watch the Brisbane Lions yesterday or anytime recently. Journeyman ruck and lost their best forward and it doesn't matter. When all of their blue chip mids (They have 5 of them) decide it's time to stop having their premiership hangover and put their foot down...it's game over.

You get the blue chips mids at the top of the draft.

Dunkley, Neale and two father sons - Lions didn't really draft 5 blue chips did they?
