Sharp is dominating

There’s good reason why many consider him the pick of this years draft. I’m an old bugger and can say that there have been so many times that players ranked 1 by a clear margin haven’t ended up being picked at 1. And the clubs overlooking them have been wrong most of the time.
I remember in the Fiora draft year, Pavlich wa the touted number one pick and when he didn’t get selected in the first 3, I thought we’d hit the jackpot, but no, we looked past him too. The year Petracca was rated best, Nic Nat, N Daicos, yet other clubs tried to outsmart the obvious.
If Sharp is available at our pick, we MUST select him. If he ends up wanting to return to SA, we will get a bounty of picks for him imo.

I've just noticed that line breaking that I'm hopeful of Kaleb Smith using for us.
If we have Pick 3 & 5 (for instance) can always slide one a little to get him if its what we need.

really hoping we get to have a good look at Hotton & Smillie this year to get a feel for what we've got well covered.

I’m with you, really like Kaleb Smith. Should just pay him at HBF for a number of games and see if he has what it takes. I reckon he does

Eagles will get Sharp they need mids. If they lose Oscar Allan reckon they also take a tall with the compo pick.

If we do draft 2 kids, glad it looks like we will have 2 picks in the first 5.

Too early to say Mate but Fred may kill it at the representative level, Curtain? Who knows at this early stage but I reckon if they can pick a local, they will. Not convinced they’ll finish last either. Norf and our team could easily take that “honour”, will be one of those three imo

He's from the Barossa. Not exactly a local Adelaide boy.

After a relatively quiet start, Sharp is building nicely into his season. He was much better in game 2 for the AFL Academy, leading a midfield group that dominated their more mature Coburg opponents for most of the game. Sharp wasn't just winning the ball at the coalface, he also gained territory pumping the ball inside 50 on 10 occasions and while some of those kicks weren't as spearing and precise as you might like was still responsible for setting up a number of scoring opportunities for his forwards.

AFL Draft: Top 10 prospects impress in AFL Academy victory over VFL side

AFL Academy defeated Coburg as a defender took out best-on-ground honours.

Geelong Falcons co-captain Josh Lindsay was named best-on-ground for the AFLAcademy. finishing with 25 disposals, using his run and carry and piercing kicking to set the game up off halfback

Willem Duursma's output was much improved from game one, with 20 disposals and eight marks, competing well as a quasi-key defender, while also distributing strongly, before getting some midfield time late

Sharp helped his side take the early ascendancy, with eight disposals in the first eight minutes and 19 in the first half, finishing with 26 touches, five clearances and six tackles, but was at times untidy with his ball use.

Greeves had 22 disposals and four clearances in a balanced performance in the contest and open play

Inside 50, Archie Ludowyke looked the most likely target, finishing with 2.2

Louis Emmett was the most impressive ruck for the AFL Academy with 15 disposals, five marks and five clearances.

Cooper Duff-Tytler also had some flashy moments, particularly in the first half, as he continues to stake his claim for the number one pick.

South Australian pair Sam Cumming and Harley Barker and Brisbane Academy prospect and Academy skipper Dan Annable were others to show pleasing signs

I dunno I saw Curtain take a great contested grab and also use his body well against a defender in a different situation. There is potential for him to be a great forward. Very strong hands.

A lot but we miss Cotch, Dusty and Prestia more. They're the ones you need top 10 picks or salary cap space for.

Lindsay has some flaws in his game imo. Can be masked at half back a bit but yeah not sure i want to use a top 4 or 5 pick on a hbf who isn't a massive intercept player.

Lots of different types in there as well so we can be selective with what we want/need.
