Any chance of a Kellway clip from this game if he has enough impact to warrant making one?
I didn't notice him doing a lot to be honest. The U18s were at their best in the opening quarter and built a decent lead but they skipped that whole section on the stream, and then they were under the pump for the rest of the game in wet conditions, there wasn't a lot to get excited about.

Hopefully it was more conditions rather than poor performance as it would be nice to start landing some Father/Son types that can actually play

Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves returned yesterday with 13 disposals and 4 goals.

Still want to see a more inside game from him this year but he offers a lot of what we need too on the outside.

Thrillem continues to put up big numbers and influence games for his Gippsland Power team. Here we again saw issues with his disposal effectiveness at times, but its one of very few weaknesses in his game. His combination of size, speed and reaction times around congestion allows him to swoop on loose balls rapidly or close space quickly to apply pressure. With his team trailing entering the fourth quarter Willem lifted and was a significant factor in helping the power surge to victory.

Another nearly performance.

His kicking for goal is just so bad.

FIRST ROUND PROSPECT EYEING RETURN

Jack Dalton, who is one of Xavier College’s top prospects for this year’s draft, is recovering well from a gym accident which left him requiring surgery on both wrists.

Despite having not played any football in 2025, Dalton was recently selected into the Vic Metro side for the U18 Championships.

The hard-nosed Sandringham Dragons premiership midfielder was doing the running for Xavier last weekend and was eyeing a return in the near future.

ā€œI’m travelling quite well … I am hoping to come back on June 6th for the Friday night game between Sandy and Oakleigh,ā€ he said.

ā€œI will play a mix of school footy, Coates League and Champs. I couldn’t be more keen to get back out there and do what I love.ā€

Dalton had surgery nine weeks ago and said the two weeks post-surgery were ā€œmentally and physicallyā€ challenging.

ā€œI was in a fair bit of pain and only being allowed to walk as a form of exercise for two weeks was tough,ā€ he said.

ā€œBut I am a very process-driven person, I processed the situation, took it day by day and have been working hard (to recover).ā€

There is an added incentive for the young leader to get back, with the hope of running out alongside his younger brother Max in the red and black.

ā€œHopefully he and I can play a few games together once I’m back,ā€ Dalton said.

The young gun models his game on Lachie Neale, Errol Gulden and Bailey Smith, and hopes to put his best foot forward when he returns in a few weeks.
