If we could do something like 2 & 3 for Reid and Hawks R1, then I'd be more in favour of doing it, but doubt Matt Clarke is that generous

It’s gonna be something exactly like that.

WCE first demand will be our two picks this year and and 1st next year.

Blair will laugh and say 1 top 5 pick this year.

Then the negotiations will start and they’ll meet somewhere in the middle like always happens in AFL.

WCE have Evans and Walley as NGA (and banfield??? Actually haven’t heard about him all year?), so along with Allan compo and our pick that’s 3 top 5 players and 2 later first early 2nds. Makes sense to get our future first to spread out the picks a bit. Especially in a weaker draft.

So it’ll be like 1 pick this year and 1 next year and then can Blair negotiate the hawks pick or would he be happy to just find the picks to pay for Kellaway and walk out with Reid + Louie + one of Grlj/Greeves/CDT/Duursma/Sharp/Burton?

besides it’s increasingly obvious our list management team think Harley is worth the cost.

its not about the draft, but what we should be looking at is proaching some of the fitness guys from Collingwood. a whole bunch of them are over 30 and unfortunately still playing well. Elliott was stuffed 5 years ago and at 32 is killing it. same as Sidebottom and the like.

It probably won't be popular given how much he is liked by posters but I'd be prepared to have Blight used in the trade for Reid as I think he makes it a bit easier for them to trade out that Hawks pick getting a ready made KPD who can slot straight into their best 23. But maybe it's more important that we get picks that allow us to get Kellaway locked away and maybe bank some points for 2026 to match Armstrong.

I’d trade Blight in a heartbeat to complete the trade. I like him and really think he should have played last week instead of Faull, who looks overwhelmed/exhausted, but if WCE want him he’s gone.

I have an unhealthy amount of faith in Gibcus coming good. Also a healthy amount of faith in Gray.

I didn’t actually realise until today (because some lazy campaigner hasn’t put all the draft picks as a banner on this thread) that we don’t have our 2nd, 3rd or 4th pick. So we’re either gonna have to find someone to trade with to bring next years picks forward or trade someone out. So makes me think more Blair might just WCE 2nd rounder if Harley nominates us.

That would be a great outcome CM.

However I'm never a fan of trading out a future 1st.
