Indy Cotton has chosen footy and the Crows 😭
Reading today's SMail it would appear Jarrod Cotton's 4 games for Port way back is dwarfed by his (and his kids') Iove of Camryville.

JC was an assistant coach at the Croms, knows a couple of people still there closely, and was his fave club of choice.

No chance Indy was ever coming to us.

So we've lost out on Nas, Schoey and now Cotton this past week.
Anyone willing to place any bets on us getting Pilot, Tambe, Salopek, Rodan and some high quality assistant coaches in future?
😔

You’re dreaming, more likely some bargain basement mark downs from the SANFL.
Or someone sacked from another club that’s looking for easy money.

Couple of options around our picks that should work well. Feels like a skinny draft for talls and small forwards.

Avery Thomas - athletic half back, can play small or tall. Raw.

Pickett

Byrne runs well and finishes well enough. Think it’s just the height but gave me Darcy Jones vibes.

Taj Murray but will be a long term investment.

Caleb Nancarrow (academy) might be available if the suns focus elsewhere. Athletic player.

That's interesting. So Carr has a yes from his first choices?
I don't know if he's received a yes from all his first choices but I believe Schoey ruled himself out after hearing that he wasn't amongst Carr's first set of candidates.

So you can take that how you'd like but I'd see it as us saying no rather than Schoey saying no

Gotta say that's a bit soft. Sometimes you have to fight for your spot.

How would he even know he’s not first choice?
I’d say word would get around who’s being talked about for the job.
If nobody’s approached you then you’d have a pretty good idea others are in front of you.
Yep, plus Schoey has signalled that he's very keen to come back to Port a couple of times but Carr didn't have serious negotiations with him which probably also gives it away

Of course.

But if word got around that they were talking to 2, 3 4 or whatever other people, how would you know that you were the one who wasn’t first choice?

They wouldn’t be looking at just one position, there is more than one vacancy to fill as it stands.
If he hasn’t been approached by now he’d know he’s not in the running for any of the positions on offer.
That’s how I would read it personally.

People's thoughts on Tom Lewis from Sturt?
Bit older, but has worked on his physique and aerobic capacity. Seems an ok kick.

Is he too slow? Lacks clean hands?
Slow to decide on his option in traffic?

Worth a look?
For me personally, it's either Watkins or Lewis. We can't have too many of those types that are simply ball winners.
