If we get one of Latrelle or Oudshoorn-Bennier I'll be happy.

Looking more like we'll have to take 28 and 47 to the draft. Unlikely, unless it happens on draft night for a slider, that clubs will want these picks
Those 2 are the only ones I'm really interested in too. Unless Barker somehow slides to 28.

Getting into territory where we have to take draftees now, especially now Fiorini isn't happening. Have list spots so we might just need
I cant see a problem with taking a few kids in the draft. It adds a bit of enthusiasm. Hopefully you jag a decent player. If not they get de-listed in a year or two. After we get brodie it will be down to 4 spots.

I still have 5 spots per my calcs after Will Brodie but maybe I've done something wrong. Have 30 senior spots, 7 Cat A and 2 Cat Bs filled.

It'll at minimum become 31 senior spots, 6 Cat As and 2 Cat Bs, leaving 5 senior spots if it stays this way.

Can see a world where it becomes 34 senior spots, 3 Cat As and 2 Cat Bs, leaving 2 Senior spots to take to Draft night and 3 Cat A spots one of which I presume goes to Watkins.

Personally, with the coaching staff we have in place now, I'd love us to have a crack at Elijah Hollands or Jaidyn Stephenson. Let them go head to head in SSP for a rookie spot and see what goes.

I'm just going 9 out, 3 mid season draft, wehr, brodie. That's 4 spots left.

Best player comparison for Oudshoorn-Bennier? Kinda wish he was a left footer. 🤣
Well, I think across HB he could be a Matt Roberts type. In the midfield I think he could be a Chad Warner type. No idea why those two Swans boys came to mind first when I watched him play but they did.

I just cant foresee a player called Oudshoorn-bennier being a gun player. (purely due to the awkwardness of his name)

We'll have to call him OB

Oscar Allen compo pushes out our picks to 29, 49, 67, 85.

This is how the first 8 picks look for now.

Put this in the List Management thread but its relevant for this one as well.

At the moment Port's list is;

30 Main list........ inc Wehr
7 Rookies .......... Evans, Cochrane, Lai, Walsh, Liddy, MacKinlay and Ramm
2 Cat B Rookies.. Barrett, Moss

We can only have a max 6 rookies. Evans will get promoted as part of his 3 year deal signed in May.

That means we are down to 6 rookies and only have to draft 2 players as rookie promotions count as part of a minimum 3 to be drafted by the clubs. With 6 rookies, the maximum main list can be, is 36.

Can't see anyone else getting elevated as its part of a way to dodge salary cap given the base payment of $105,000 to a Category A rookie isn't included in the cap. Category B rookies get paid the same amount and base payment is exempt.

If Port are opting to trade out of this year's draft, would it be better if they take those picks into draft night just in case if a slider pops up to Port's pick that is too good to pass up?
I would definitely take that pick 28 into draft night and use it. While I do not rate the first round prospects as highly as other years, I don't subscribe to the consensus that there's no depth.

lack of quality talls hurts this draft. There is CDT, Schubert, Dean, Ludowyke, maybe Thredgold, think I’m missing one - but that’s about it for top 40.

You hope someone like Dovaston, Phillipou etc slides to us.

If not, Burton and Thomas would be solid gets. Excellent athletes, Burton moves well at stoppages and Thomas is a reasonable defender. But think both could be shuffled around - forward, back as needed. Both probably there at our second pick.
