Port have access to Louie Montgomery again as F/S if he's willing to joinAny chance Port takes any mature age players? How is Louie Monegatemy tracking? Is he a chance of getting drafted? He seems to have been racking up the ball. Considering the depth of the draft this season, unless Port somehow gets a top tier 1st round pick out of their butt, would it be better to identify mature age players in this years draft ranging from the ages between 19 to 23? Preference is getting a key defender followed by a midfielder and genuine small forward.
Geelong seems to have a knack at identifying mature aged players though it helps that they have a factory in their neck of the woods.
Would he be a half-back flanker? And would that enable Brett to return to Port?Port have access to Louie Montgomery again as F/S if he's willing to join
I can see him moving into the midfield but not as a contested ball winner but more a ball user. But yeah to start would be HB.Would he be a half-back flanker? And would that enable Brett to return to Port?

There are questions over whether he previously dominated due to him being physically more developed. As the other kids physically catch up, he's not proving to be as dominant. Unless he has a great champs, he could slide slide into the 2nd round.can someone explain to me why sharp went from potential number 1 pick to potential top 20 pick?
Surely there's no way he slides to the second round? I could see him sliding back to maybe pick 10, but he still seems like a gun player. There are questions over whether he previously dominated due to him being physically more developed. Last game he played for Centrals he racked up 35 possessions the last game he played before that 30 up to 3/4 time before being injured and missing the following week.Surely there's no way he slides to the second round? I actually have Curtin in my top 10 atm. I think there's a very high ceiling if he's developed right. Not sure why others have cooled off.Rookie Me
Has Cody Curtin as it's highest ranked key defender at 19.
200cm 98kgs.
That's a seriously solid defender if he's any good.
Would upset the Crows no end if he ended up here.
I'm taking it as a given Dougie ends up here and we play him across half back. Teaming him up with someone with serious size about them would be ideal.

I don't think Dougie will play half back, or not for too long at least. Better up forward imo.
What should be Port’s draft strategy this year? Draft mature age players? Draft kids who missed out last season? Bundle up some picks to Brisbane or one of the other Northern teams for their 1st pick or something?Twomey once again bagging 2025 draft , saying there are no stars or depth. Most clubs still looking to trade out draft selections if they can. Unless some players show something special in u18s, it could be the smallest pickup of new kids in years.

2025 draftWhen is Wakelins kid eligible?
Depends what happens with Chocrane, if we do get NGA access to him then it’s a good chance he gets goes before our first pick so it’s worth more to us as a trade than it is taking it to the draft.I am not trading 2026 1st round pick whatsoever.
Secure quality you have currently from poaching ie Bergman and Butters, and look for free agents, or uncontracted that fill gaps. What should be Port’s draft strategy this year? Draft mature age players? Draft kids who missed out last season? Bundle up some picks to Brisbane or one of the other Northern teams for their 1st pick or something?
If Port gets access with Cochrane, they might be tempted to trade out their 2026 1st rounder if he is the favourite to become the No.1 pick as Cal stated last year.Depends what happens with Chocrane, if we do get NGA access to him then it’s a good chance he gets goes before our first pick so it’s worth more to us as a trade than it is taking it to the draft.

Not really, unless trading that pick gets us more points but right now first round picks in terms of DVI are worth more than ever before and we wouldn't want to take a deficit into 2027Depends what happens with Chocrane, if we do get NGA access to him then it’s a good chance he gets goes before our first pick so it’s worth more to us as a trade than it is taking it to the draft.
I saw you today mate but you were too busy to say gday to. Hope you are wellAnd can play both ends. Kicked 8 goals in a pre season game and 5 goals in the opening colts game for Claremont
our draft strategy will depend on how many delisting's / trades we do ...What should be Port’s draft strategy this year? Draft mature age players? Draft kids who missed out last season? Bundle up some picks to Brisbane or one of the other Northern teams for their 1st pick or something?

If Cal is that confident, he must be the Harley Reid of the 2026 draft since he was the clear No.1 from the get go in his draft year.
I wonder how strong and deep the 2026 draft will be?![]()
