Can someone head to the fish and chip shop and tell Macca his account has been hacked?Sounds strange saying it, but i'd probably keep Atkins for another year. He's reasonable depth at the very least. Finlayson gets a 1 year deal simply for depth.
Delist Anastas, Williams and Mcentee.
Regardless of my opinion about him, I believe there's a chance he's rookie listed for next year whilst having a development coaching role of some sortRatkins is actually a pretty good footballer and a positive influence among the playing group.
Would possibly accept a reduced package?
If one of Lord or Finlayson goes, probably would be ideal to nab a key forward. Only issue is that most of the "decent" KPP will be gone by then.Oudshoorn-Bennier is one to keep an eye on (other than Barker). If he gets to us I am definitely taking him. Cumming could also drop to us, wouldn't rule him out.
Tom Burton from Western Jets is another, Brodie Atkins from Gippsland Power and Xavier Bamert from Sandringham Dragons are all midfield options who should be around our mark (may be not Burton by end of the year, he could storm up rankings).
Charlie McKinnon been kicking bags and has excellent forward craft, would be surprised if he got through to our pick but if he did, that's a tall forward I'd seriously consider given I have lost all faith in Lord.
If we wanted to prioritise a Bergman type 3rd tall (despite Bergman signing on), I'd like at Xavier Taylor from Eastern Ranges
With Soldo leaving, we'll look at a ruck for sure I think so Flynn Penry and Zac Harding (prefer the latter) are also possibilities around our pick.
And lastly, 3 smokeys to keep an eye on are Luke Hallet, Felix Kneipp and Lachy Hicks. Could be bolters

This year's draft just had to be that weak huh.![]()
I do like Murray as that mobile ruck forward but he is gonna take awhile with his slight frame. 4 goals though in the match against SA earlier this year. So that’s promising. Wonder what his draft range is though?Think there'll be some developmental types.
Marsh, Schubert, Ludowyke I expect as the first 3 to go
Curtin will be around the end of first round mark but also plays KPD
Then in the next ring, you have Hetherton, McKinnon
Then there's the fwd/ruck types in Taj Murray, Flynn Penry, Zac Harding, Lachie Monteath
Smokey's probably would be Josh Shepherd as a tall that plays both ends and Jobe Scapin as medium talls.
Of course they range from a first rounder to possibly 3rd rounder but I think any of the names I've mentioned would be worth a punt over keeping Finlayson or Lord. McKinnon in particular is my favourite because of his contested ability and sticky hands.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Jobe Shanahan was right there at our pick last year.I do like Murray as that mobile ruck forward but he is gonna take awhile with his slight frame. 4 goals though in the match against SA earlier this year. I would love to draft Cody Curtin partly because of my amusement of seeing Dan and him duke it out on all possible showdowns. However it would be a miracle if he slid to Port’s first pick. Would be mad not to draft him by then.
But the first thing a key forward needs to have is being a good kick for goal.
Knew I forgot someone from my list, did the post on top of my head but home now and went over my list.Think there'll be some developmental types.

He doesn't understand the mechanics behind it though.....Kane Cornes reckons the first round of the draft should be completely pure. Then all the father-son and academy stuff from pick 19 onwards can happen then.
It's not weak. It's just pushed it's weak by Vics because the Vic talent is weaker than past drafts. It's a SA super draft and WA talent is a lot better tooIf one of Lord or Finlayson goes, probably would be ideal to nab a key forward. So Port should just focus on drafting SA lads and to a lesser extent, WA lads this year? What if and I only say what if, most of the SA lads are taken by the time Port enters the draft? Surely, there will be a player or two that will slide to Port's first pick as it stands. It's not weak. It's just pushed it's weak by Vics because the Vic talent is weaker than past drafts. Yea minimum three per year including rookie elevations.

At the top of my head in no particular order, I would be keen for the following with our first pick as it stands. Some of the possible candidates we could draft with our low picks (3rd rounder onwards).
Dusty Geister (192cm KF) playing SANFLs U18 and Reserve
Latrelle Sumner-Pickett playing SANFL Reserves - currently 2nd highest goal kicker in the Reserves comp
Gabriel Stumpf (196cm) last years draft candidate, started playing as KPD this year (incredibly athletic)
I would use our 2nd round pick on this years draft.
There are a few smokies and hidden gems in this poor draft that will surface.

One of these guys surely will slide.
- Taj Murray
- Harvey Barker
- Sam Cumming
- Matthew LeRay
- Cody Curtin
I'm a huge advocate for acquiring Latrelle Sumner-Pickett because he is a small forward and also has the name Pickett. Port needs a Pickett in the list.
I would love us to find a way to get Aiden Schubert without losing any future picks.
Great contested mark can fill in at ruck and finds the ball up ground. Reminds me of Sam Darcy.
Yeah he doesn't get the love he deserves from the Vic bias mediaHe’s a ripping contested mark and I think that often translates well.
He’s a good height and has a frame that looks look he will be a beast.
Didn't watch the Sturt u18 game today but think Gill Wakelin may have been thrown forward finally. A position where he excelled u16. Not a draftable prospect as a tall defender but as a tall forward if he can hit the form he had in u16 then he might be worth a late pick. 17 disposals, 1 goal, 9 marks
