If we didn't trade away our first round pick for Luko we might have been in the running to get Dyson Sharp if NWM trade doesn't happen. Might have had to trade something away to move up a couple of places if say we finish 12th.

That way we might have had 3 Centrals lads for the 2027 season and beyond who played a lot of junior footy together if the Doug Cochrane (along with Tom) ruling goes our way.

Interesting that Curtain has fallen away. Seemed a potential top 20 pick, now he’s not really getting spoken about.

Taj Murray had a solid start to the carnival and also seems to have disappeared.
Makes me wonder if it’s better if Port either opts out of this draft unless there is a slider or draft mature age players from ages 19 to 21?

The draft is so meh and the more I look into it, the less excited I am for it.

In previous years, there was so much hype on a few kids. This year, no one really stands out or has the media coverage compared to previous draftees.

Stay where we are in the draft unless that pick is used in a deal to get NWM.

I think there could be a slider at our pick. Maybe not a star quality but 20-40 range looks like it could have some low risk high reward picks.

Zero Hanger early look at Port's draft needs and possibilities

The club's key position stocks should be an area of focus, according to analyst Jonty Ralphsmith, who named South Australian defender Elliott Duffield and Western Australia's Lochlain Carpenter as options for them to consider in defence. A player like Liam Hetherton could slip as a result of that injury.

Mitch Keating listed a small forward in the later stages of the draft that could be of interest to Port Adelaide, who only hold selections 26, 44 and 62 overall. Keating named local livewire Zane Peucker one for the Power to consider, as is Vic Country goalsneak Talor Byrne. Peucker's Woodville-West Torrens teammate Jevan Phillipou is a hard-working midfielder who could also suit the Power in the long run.

I do like Jevan , has a bit of x factor , we however would have to move our current 25 down into the 15 range. Watched Curtain in the WA colts and he is a man mountain surrounded by children. Thats the knock on him, can he do it against men. Id be happy to punt on him at 25.

West Coast has begun discussions with the AFL about receiving a priority draft pick at season’s end while confident it will keep wunderkind Harley Reid.
The Eagles are starring down a fourth season in the bottom two and successive wooden spoon with just one win.
West Coast CEO Don Pyke revealed he had reached out after being forced into an “unfortunate situation”.

By priority, I imagine they would be looking at a end of first round pick which could effectively be about 30?

Nah, I’d consider it if they had to trade the pick.

Hopefully the profile of the players we'll draft will change with the change of senior coach

Hinkley: preferably Vic Country Hillbilly, needs a Daddy, good human, can chase
Carr: Hard as a cats head, can gets his own ball, can kick a goal
