My favorite but would likely have gone: Sturt - Blake Thredgold height: 194cm D.O.B: 27-08-2007
The dearth of genuine key defensive options in this year’s draft means Thredgold’s stocks have been booming in the back-end of the year. So much so, he has a case for being the best in his position in an open draft. While he initially endeared himself to clubs with his defensive application, Thredgold has further unearthed his draftability with terrific results in the way of athletic testing, and a promising growth in attacking output. His well-roundedness could lead to late first round selection, but more likely finding a home in the second round.

One of the 5 players I would take with either our pick 49 or if thats traded into next year pick 85 which will come back into the 60s.

1. Blake Oudshoorn Bennier
2. Latrelle Sumner Pickett
3. Jett Dehlitz
4. Zane Peucker
5. Balyn O'Brien

Anyone know this years PSD order?

He's 33, and likely cooked but is Steven May worth picking up for a year or 2 on the cheap.

Would be good to have an experienced campaigner around to mentor and tech Harrison Ramm until he finds his feet.

Looking at our potential list changes for next year, I’d say Soldo is most likely gone, Lord probably gone and who knows how Marshall will return. We should be looking to draft a forward/ruck this year.

Louis Emmett will be long gone by our pick but I like Taj Murray, can see a footballer in the Billy Frampton journey man mould in Sam Ainsworth, and Cody Curtin is the type you would know very quickly if he will make it at AFL level or not - which isn’t the worst thing for a late pick tall.

Steven May isn't out of contract so wouldn't be available to pick up in the PSD.

Next year in the 2026 draft there is SA draftee with huge potential. Our 2nd round picks make us well placed to get him.

Ethan Herbert 200cm ruck/forward playing for North Adelaide. Played in the 2025 Nationals Under 17 Futures game.

#27 Ethan Herbert (North Adelaide/South Australia)
Ruck/Forward | 200cm | 01/11/2008

Stats:
16 disposals, 17 hitouts, 4 clearances

Really liked the way Herbert moved because 200cm players do not often sell candy bursting out of a stoppage. Some of his kicks were not perfect, but his clean hands, evasive techniques and ruck craft all really stood out in the game. When in the air, Herbert clunked some big grabs, and he was not afraid to follow-up with repeat touches as well. Had the most hitouts in the match (17) including a game-high nine at the centre bounce.

Plus the only thing he'd teach Harrison Ramm is how to be a shit bloke.

In this morning's press the suggestion was put that we do not rate this year's Draft and could use it to promote the likes of Tom Corchrane, Josh Lai and Harrison Ramm to our senior list. It was suggested that we might on trade the 49 pick if there is no suitable talent available.

Obviously pushing the 29 pick back to 2026 suggests there may be something to that argument.

Yeah well that and the fact that Jason Cripps said all this word for word on trade radio.

In the first BigFooty phantom draft we selected Sturt tall defender Blake Thredgold with our pick in the 40s. Wouldn't be a terrible outcome, sounds like he will go earlier though.

We took Calder small defender Felix Kneipp with the next pick (we don't have that pick any more) but he wouldn't be a bad pick in the 40s if we have it.

A stress response in his back saw Kneipp miss around four months of the season, but he snuck in six appearances in the bookends of Calder’s campaign. Despite not getting to represent Vic Metro at the Under 18 National Championships, the running machine showed enough to earn a state combine invite and followed through late in the season to repay that faith. He returned for Calder in Round 19, picking up 20 disposals on managed minutes. What followed were hauls of 31 and 30 disposals, increasing his midfield exposure to good effect. Kneipp plays in perpetual motion, transitioning the ball with several possessions in single passages and impacting games in a high-volume style. Keep him in mind.

I know we've interviewed this kid. Wonder if we'll hold on to the pick on draft night until he goes and then trade it out

I know people rate Benny Barrett but I feel like this guy could be even Bennier

This is my other target with our late pick, article is spot on about his game being based on Zac Bailey. Think we could take him with pick 85. Still think we should take a prospect late in the draft
