What should we make of promoting Evans after the draft, as opposed to Lai and Cochrane who were promoted beforehand?
I had hoped that last year was an anomaly for Evans and that the club would still be confident that he has the tools and attitude to be a really good AFL player. The fact that we may already rate Lai and Cochrane above him suggests we either rate them very highly already, or still harbour some doubts about Logan.

Players can have second year blues but he wasn’t even in the same ball park as his 2024 form.
Sometimes injuries can play a part but I can’t remember him having anything serious.
I’m not sure but if he’s promoted to the main list does that give him a two year contract?
If so it gives him time to sort himself out.

There's a message there for him. He had a bad dose of second year blues, his year started badly and never improved. But we saw in his first year that he has talent and footy IQ. It's up to him to find the application that made him a standout in that first season.

Yeah - I thought he had already signed a contract extension early last year, that took him to the end of 2026 and possibly end of 2027. Agree, his drop off last year at both AFL and SANFL level was far too great.

I recall that he self-reflected on a bit of complacency during his U18 year that may have contributed to his initial non-drafting. Then worked hard to get on a list through the mid-year selection process. Now seems to have slipped back again. Not sure if he gets too far ahead of himself and becomes cocky/complacent or whether he has the opposite problem of dropping confidence too quickly when things don't go right. Hopefully someone at the club can figure it out and correct.

Hibbins-Hargreaves, Oudshoorn-Bennier or Kickett for me. Really hope we pick one or two of them up.

BOB as the mid, NHH, HFF with the aim to transition to a mid and Kickett as the x-factor small forward.

Stuff getting Watkins and Stephenson imo.

Couldn't have been anything more than some niggles - he played 20 games in 2025

Stephenson is simply a train on player at the moment and we can take him (or another train on option) as an SSP pick outside of the draft. So we will keep a spot free anyway.

In the end it will be one new player today and probably Watkins.

Only 60 players selected in this draft including academy and father son selections. I don't think we missed out on much this year. Take out those academy players and you would have less than 50 genuine picks.

May be a moot point, can you go into points deficit then trade draft points later in the same draft to balance the books?
