Remind me the rules for the Maggie's picking up u18s that missed out.

I'm not sure of what the specific rules are. But we've picked up Logan Evans, Rome Burgoyne in recent times, Adelaide picked up Ned Atkinson last year. So they can pick up whoever they want.

I'm even more shocked that NHH hasn't been picked than BOB. NHH has some Murphy Reid-esque class to go with match winning ability.

Adelaide threaten PSD every trade period for their trade targets and people say it's a bad idea to ruin relationships but I'm yet to see this ever backfire.

So we have Jayden Stephenson, Rome Burgoyne, Jez McLennan all training with us from next week. Be interesting to see who else we bring in. Really hope the selection of Watkins helps motivate more reserves recruitment.

Good draft. We got a whole heap in 2024 and have some promising F/S and NGAs to pick up in 2026 and 2027.

It gives Carr a good look at what we've got and what we need.

I don't know if the next two drafts are rated highly or not. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

In this thread or another thread, a few people were banging on about that the 2020 draft was not very good and we pretty much stayed out of that one picking up Lachie Jones on the NGA, a late Lord and rookie dross.

I'm happy they stayed out of this one. We will see if that early pick is worth Jack Lukosuis and stuff.

It's certainly a tough sell to get the fans excited for a new era when the only players we brought in this trade and draft period are Will Brodie, Jacob Wehr and Corey Durdin.

I get what you’re saying but this offseason was always about regenerating the off-field first. New head coach, senior assistant, director of coaching, head of football and head of athletic performance amongst a few other off-field changes. I’m excited by these much needed changes.

We also know what the clubs plans are in terms of list strategy, all about the 26’ and 27’ drafts.

Now, unlike last preseason, hopefully no key injuries and SPP is the only player missing come round 1 due to injury… and the new coaching panel gets the best out of our playing group. Theres lots of players who have the capability to go up a level or two imo.

At this point with the 2 spare spots I'd take a chance on 2 kids that didn't get picked up.

Stephenson give an SANFL list spot, trial period for a bit and maybe mid-season draft if he's impressive and not soft.
Rome Burgoyne I need to see more at SANFL level, if he improves, maybe rookie list this time next year.
McLennan I think is just an SANFL standard player.

PSD has been on gone. No more drafts.

SSP is the Supplemental Selection Period. We will have some train-ons and can take 2 players that way.

Reactionist.

Serves a purpose when there is depth to the draft.

Gives clubs a look with less of a financial commitment.

Ask Houston or Jonas if it serves a purpose.
