Would love to get the tigers early and have them twice to help our percentage for the year, something we always seem to lack in come the end of the year so a couple of easy kills could be the difference come the pointy end..
Wishful thinking tho I would assume Melbourne and Adelaide/West Coast will be our double ups from the bottom 6 bracket

The Bulldogs will host a game against us at the MCG in Round 2, according to the AFL website.
Forever drawing crowds for tin rattling clubs on their celebration games.

The Herald Sun have also released the same information about our club’s Round 2 fixture on Friday March 21 against the Western Bulldogs.

Given we play Sunday for opening round, and dogs on a Friday night in round 2, I'd guess we play an opening round participant on the Saturday in round 1.

My guess, gold coast.

Brisbane (first VFL game Fitzroy), Melbourne (first flag) or Sydney (second flag) would make more historical sense. None would see the dollars or crowd numbers though.

Decent guess, I think it’ll be either a home game vs Cats or the rumour that we are playing Brisbane.

Gold Coast first home game would be a bit of a fizzer. Hoping we have a team that can draw a big crowd or kick start things.

Whateley has just announced we're playing Carlton in round 4 on a Thursday night, Brisbane in Brisbane in round 6 and also have Fremantle in Perth before the bye in round 9.

So, in our first 6 or 7 games we will have GWS, Dogs, Carlton, Brisbane and Sydney.

We’re probably better off playing the teams that played finals in 2024 early in the season when they’re still adjusting to a shorter pre-season. There might be some slow starters in that group, like us and Brisbane this year.

Maybe.

The thing I'm most interested in is how seriously the AFL treats the weighted fixture.
