Depends what you're looking for I guess. The general stats contributing to the intensity of the game will be well below AFL average with this set up.
It will be high scoring, bruise free football that the AFL and 7 will hype up as amazing and the standard because it allows them to sell more advertising space

It's a start . I remember the big V playing SA in front of a packed MCG and it was elite with the likes of Plugger , Dermie etc , even somehow our own David Murphy , just shows how good he was
That was great. Back then there were identities feeding into it too. Teddy and Kerls. Others too. Good times. Good footy.

Murphy was a gun. Is he in Swans Hall of Fame? Can't remember.

Can remember pre State of Origin when Victoria would play WA and SA with elite WA and SA players playing for the Vics. Usually a slaughter. No wonder those states hated us.

Absolutely. In our team of the century too.

I enjoyed seeing him and Rod Carter speak at an event early last year. Still a big Swans man.

Gary Ablett snr turning it on as well
I have strong memories of that game - Lockett and Dunstall trading leads - Ablett creating mayhem.

Can’t recall if Brereton played, but if he did he wasn’t noticed.

The Vics smashed the SA fwd line - Kernahan got a couple of late kicks and muffed them.

The only SA player that stood out was Andrew Jarman - he dished out some sensational handballs.

Great memories
The ground was an absolute mud heap , the sooks wouldn't play on it now

I misread this initially as if Drummond will be the new Chair of the AFL Commission - but he's only a Commissioner (at this stage). I don't think it's known who will be the next Chair. I can't wait for Goyder to be gone, he's been dismal, and only marginally better than Fitzpatrick, his predecessor.

Those new rules are fantastic. Finally last touch is in.
No mention of what happens if the oppo player corrals the ball over the line after an opposition kick tho. If they don't define a ruling for that situation it won't take long for it to come up as it would look stupid. A player under pressure would be better off letting the ball cross the line so they can obtain a freekick and dispose under no pressure just like how defenders and goalkeepers in soccer protect the ball over the touch line to gain a throw in or goal kick - that would be a blight on the game.

Also the stricter interpretation of the stand rule is going to create a freekick fest.

Brodie Grundy will be heavily hampered by the new ruck rule (not that i have much of an opinion on it because the current rucking situation doesn't really stand out as an issue, who really cares how rucks approach the jump, just let them decide what suits them).

Anything that makes it easier and fairer across the board is a good thing. Having some paid deliberate and some not this year was a joke.

I’m here or there about the ruck rules but Grundy is a mobile ruck he’s fine it’s the ones like Witts that may struggle

It specifically states that if a player doesn’t make a play on the ball, it will be a throw in. So corralling out of bounds = throw in (if they can reasonably gain possession I guess).

So much for getting rid of the interpretation problem. Isn't that the soul reason this rule was introduced.

Fixing a problem that's not there with a fix that doesn't really fix the problem

I think Bedders meant the rule is last disposal not touch.

I don't think the rule is last disposal though. If you paddle the ball along the ground and it goes out, it's still going to be a free kick to the opposition. But that isn't a disposal.
