Goes up every year regardless of the games we get and despite the gate prices not rising.Has anyone else noticed that membership has gone up appx 15% (Melbourne premiership)?
Although, apparently we get entrance to the Geelong game too this year.
Maybe a Swans board delegation to Pav , like a fans association work out some issues and go to the club , but you would think members onlyGoes up every year regardless of the games we get and despite the gate prices not rising.
Memberships used to be a benefit for members. Now you are effectively donating to the club.
Unfortunately since Tony Morwood left the Melbourne office, members down here have been taken for a ride.
A couple of years ago, membership rose yet only 4 games were general admission with the Collingwood and Essendon games fully ticketed and requiring a reserved seat. Geelong games are the same. Works out you are paying about 50 entry for a general admission ticket as a member when you could pay half of that at the gate.
In 2024 they absolute butchered the Melbourne fans day and their response in 2025 was to not have one at all, and replaced it with the captains run with a 30 minute signing where half the kids missed out getting half the players signatures again.

It was gather round mentioned, not opening round.Yup, also dislike that. Just give northern clubs the prime time slots.
Hardly gather round!!!Totally agree. Give the four northern teams the four best time slots at home against decent opposition. Home for GWS should be a day match in Canberra.
The remaining games should probably be one each in Perth and Adelaide and three in Melbourne.
Byes in a normal rotation.
It ain't rocket science.
Versing. Isn't that what Shakespeare did? You've totally missed the point. Traditionally 'verse' may not have been a verb but in the sentence 'we are versing them on the weekend' it is being used as a verb and understood as such. You probably wouldn't catch me saying that but plenty of words you and I use glibly would have sounded just as wrong once upon a time. (For instance, no one now would bat an eyelid at me saying wrong rather than wrongly in that last sentence but they might have done formerly.) Anyway, if you want to take this further I suggest the Bear & Bandicoot or the Bob Skilton bar.
Well done. Looks like he sonnet.Versing. Isn't that what Shakespeare did?
That was referring to opening round.Hardly gather round!!!

‘Teething problems’, or something untenable? Behind the brewing tensions at AFL House
Tensions between the AFL’s two key football lieutenants have threatened to destabilise Andrew Dillon’s senior team just months into his controversial head-office restructure.www.theage.com.au
TL;DR - there are problems between Laura Kane and Greg Swann and with their role demarcations. Also, Richard Goyder wasn't successful in extending his tenure as AFL Commission chairman and then nor was he successful in installing his preferred successor (Peter Gordon) but succeeded in deflecting Jeff Browne from the role and a compromise candidate, Craig Drummond (former Geelong president), is due to start in the role soon.

She should've retired years agoProbably, after it became news, they asked Caro to do some digging and write an article - but then she couldn't come up with much.
I really miss year 7 at school.I finished school 70 years ago
That'll happen when Daicos leaves for Tassie GAJ style1. In 2028, Collingwood asks the AFL for a priority pick, after their demographic time-bomb explodes & they sink to West Coast style lows.
Oh no. Not Millsy. The poor bugger. What do we have to do to get him through an entire pre season free from any injuries?Fearless predictions that fill me with joy:
1. In 2028, Collingwood asks the AFL for a priority pick, after their demographic time-bomb explodes & they sink to West Coast style lows.
2. St Kilda's overpaying for a couple of "marquee" players results in resentment among the playing ranks, a culture crisis, multiple trade requests & miserable on-field performance. Ross Lyon's sacking is their "answer".
Fearless predictions that fill me with trepidation:
1. The premiership cup doesn't leave QLD before 2029, after the Lions and Suns establish a dynasty driven by an ongoing influx of elite talent.
2. Callum Mills plays a total of 5 games across the 2026 & 2027 seasons, due to an unfortunate series of soft issue injuries.
Our media all of a sudden seems obsessed with calling our footballers of both sex athletes

Swans media im talking aboutFootball commentators have been confusing hyperbole for good commentary for decades - people like MacIrvaney(sp) and Whateley pride themselves on it.
I firmly believe the last good ‘identity’ we had calling footy was Cometti - he understood the value of economy and humour.
And as for Hudson’s preplanned one line hysteria and Russell’s stupid sayings…..![]()
My bad - but it runs through the whole ‘profession’.Swans media im talking about
