Disagree that Keeler has to play, in fact I don’t think he should play at all. It has been a feel good story, but he has been utterly uncompetitive in 1v1 contests, whether it be marking or rucking. He seems weak for his size and hasn’t displayed the ability to be a lead up forward or big contested mark. Every time he goes into the ruck we lose all momentum. Taylor in defence and Briggs in the ruck will tear him a new one. If we are serious about winning this week he cant play.
I’d be worrying about getting his confidence totally destroyed.

people wanting to trade King are cooked.
Don’t think anyone is suggesting we actually trade him at this point. But if this shit is still going on next year…….. there has to come a time where having a perpetually injured highly paid player who’s supposed to be the spearhead of a flag tilt wears a bit thin. Let’s hope he gets on the park and smashes it and this discussion fades into the distance.

Can anyone think of a player who was injury-prone for a period and then got through it?

Seems to me that there's something fundamental about genetics or whatever. Injury-prone guys stay injury-prone. Resilient guys stay resilient.

Is there a blueprint player out there for Max to copy to magically start to play 20+ games a season regularly?

Daniher & Curnow

Different type of player but Crouch's body was also super injury-prone before he arrived

What's our method to winning this game?
  • skinny width means contest and clearance vital, less space for runners
  • shallow pockets means central avenues to goal. Not great for the smalls?
  • tighter space means kick to contest, where we haven't got the relief up the line

Would love thoughts about where we tactically could get them.

B. Webster Caminiti Stocker

H.B. NWM Wilkie Sinclair

C.  Henry Macrae Hill

H.F. Wood Owens Wilson

F. Collard Sharman Higgins

Foll. Marshall Garcia Windhager

I/C. Byrnes, Hall, Jones, Steele, Travaglia-sub

Ins. Henry, Steele

Outs. Hastie, Keeler

Joe Daniher at Essendon then at Brisbane he missed bugger all playing 96 games in 4 seasons.

Bloke was cooked until he was not.

I've already contradict myself but:
Boyd in coz Briggs is too big for Marshall
Wood goes back
Start with Hastie on Stringer to give him a shot and Ari/Barrat to sub. We can't beat that kind of forward power so it's a negation exercise.

At the risk of getting whacked I'd consider giving Hilly the week off as there's no wings on Norwood oval and someone a bit more contested like Monty might be a better fit.

I'd be happy enough to let this game through to the keeper. 30+ degrees in the middle of a Sunday arvo is BS and would rather be fit to face the Doggies next round.

It's a tough one. Never flirt with form, or risk cooking the team.
Yeah good point,
Briggs has towelled up Marshall on the last few occasions.
Play Marshall at C.H.B. this match ?

Just not at all confident with this max scenario.

It’s blown out at every step. Bone bruise and no surgery required into an arthroscope for some scar tissue into a “calf”.

Or in short.

4 weeks into 5 weeks into another 3 weeks.
I would rather the club writes King off for the year and get him fit.

If King is out I would be looking at bringing in Henry , try to use speed to cut them to pieces or if he is still not right get the next best option.
Keeler is a work in progress and I wouldn't be looking at Cordy he is average at best and will not win us the game.
If they want to bring in a big I would look at one of the ruckmen.

Think Hanners was bog in his final game - if only we had persevered!

Collard led pressure acts on the weekend

He’s become the better player imo - his added goal threat and creativity massively outweighs Butler’s extra bit of pressure

Until Collard has a form dip, Butler will just have to bide his time at VFL level imo
Rediculous comment,
overall with us, Butler has been a terrific player, e.g. great run down tackler & handy goalkicker.
Both he & Jones as examples, get constantly underrated by you & alot of others here.
Seriously don't get it? as it, just doesn't make sense.
It just seems like some of you just like to player bash?
But, to be honest, I've admitted on many occasion, that I'm not a fan of Stocker.
But have loved his two tackles this year, even the one where he knocked himself out. 😜
