Serong picked up 3 from 1 coach.

10 Bailey Smith (GEEL)
4 Jack Henry (GEEL)
4 Max Holmes (GEEL)
4 Sam De Koning (GEEL)
3 Caleb Serong (FRE)
3 Shannon Neale (GEEL)
1 Jeremy Cameron (GEEL)
1 Patrick Dangerfield (GEEL)

There'd only be 2 players, Bailey Smith and one of the Geelong players that received 4 votes, that would have got votes from both coaches.

JOM has had a really strong start to the season, easily our best mid through two weeks.

3 players in the top 5 sounds good, but it can also mean we're too reliant on a few players

Frederick with his first votes since 2022 (Brisbane midyear)

No Young or Darcy, Bolton finding his feet.

Also shows how important Amiss & Voss have been to Treacy’s form. He’s not dominating like that without support from his other key forwards. If we’re a 1 man show up forward the oppo would be zoning off & double teaming Treacy, but they can’t afford too.

While the top 3 are very consistent, I think that’s a pretty good spread of players for only 4 games.

Either Nicks or Longmuir voted 4 for Johnson. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Nicks because in his press conference he referred to being beaten with speed off the contest and Johnson was one that did that.

He got an ‘honourable mention’ so he must be Vic born.

Just remember him wearing an SA jumper a couple of years ago when the team all wore their state jumpers. His bio says he was born in Adelaide and I think I've heard him confirm that on an interview when he's been asked on SA radio.

But even when we had it, the rules of state of origin eligibility varied over the years it existed. Sometimes it was the state you played your first senior game, sometimes it was the state you born in.

Yeah you’re right. He was born in SA but grew up in Melbourne, so eligible for Victoria.

Now I found what you were referring on the AFL site, it says state criteria is based on who they represented at U18 level (but doesn't include Indigenous players who will be in another selected team) and it's supposed to be based on form and standing. Your point stands about Brayshaw not being selected given his form. Maybe they selected it before last weekend.

I did see Serong is named, but on a wing. Bailey Smith should be there. So should Hayden Young, because it's obviously a fantasy team to contemplate how good they might be rather than to watch play when they've also selected Sam Darcy.
