I know we didn't have the best of seasons last year, that as fans we would have loved to see 2023 backed up and I'm sure that the club would have also - I also think that as times during the year there were some questions if Dan was the right choice to continue as our head coach

Watching a clip like this from this afternoon, I feel that the answer is yes he's the right person for job (at the moment) - whenever the club has shared clips like this on socials, there always seems a lot of fun, joy and respect between all parties

Now to get the right mix on field and push on with how good we know they can play

Good to see Kearns & A.Mac named on the bench

Apologies, I've tuned in to watch the last quarter and we've started to look sloppy 😂

But a couple of observations:
- looks like Bragg is playing in front of the ball, where as we've generally seen her in the ruck or behind the ball in the AFLW

- Kearns with a couple of dropped marks and rusty looking decision making, but guessing that's somewhat expected in the first hitout ahead of the season. Get the rust out now and be better for it in a couple of weeks

And that was a dirty play by the GC ruck deep in their forward line ball up - a deliberate coathanger before the ball had really been bounced. I'm pretty sure she even stood the mark for the free before the umpire would have had a chance to blow the whistle

Georgie Prespakis with a phenomenal handball over her head while sitting on the ground which looped over an opponent and hit a teammate running away from her. Amazing stuff.

Just watching this last quarter tonight and reading reports from last week, we can see just how not right she was last season - a fit & firing Pres will make a big difference to the team

Meg Mac's decision making and disposal is still a worry for mine. There was one time she went to switch play to 3 Geelong players by themselves on the fat side of the ground and missed all three with the kick, and then 5 minutes later she tried to run through two tacklers and got pinged holding the ball.

Good sides will try and exploit that.
