But in other news ... I know there's not a lot of loyalty in the world of AFLW, and players tend to swap teams much more often than in the men's competition, but clearly loyalty is not a big factor in Nicola Stevens' make-up.

A few years at Collingwood, jumps ship to Carlton. A few years with us, jumps ship to the 'aints. A few years with them, now she wants to get to the Cats ... I realise this is probably her last contract, and the Cats are offering an extra year, but man, I don't think any of her clubs have exactly pushed her out.

What is this trade ? Just gave Skepper away with a future 4th. And we get 5th. And a lousy pick 66 this year. Just told Wet toast to just take here really. Meanwhile Adelaide is playing hard ball for Beauliue.

Skepper was a first round pick and while she hasn't quite hit her projected quality that trade (in isolation) is way less that what I would have expected.

Best to wait I guess and see how the list profile looks once trade and draft season is over

Seems like we are struggling for list spots and are a bit desperate to offload a couple with a few coming in

A couple of updates -

On Boileau:
A trade taking Boileau to Ikon Park centring around Carlton's No.16 pick looked to be agreed on Monday night, but the terms of that deal were suddenly altered by the Blues on Tuesday morning forcing Adelaide to back away from discussions.

The Blues have since looked to involve multiple different clubs in pick swaps to potentially unlock a deal for Boileau, though those talks are yet to produce a result heading into the Trade Period's final day.

On McCormick:
Carlton has already had multiple offers to secure a deal for Greater Western Sydney's star defender Cambridge McCormick repeatedly shut down across the Trade Period, with hopes quickly fading on the All-Australian's chances of a trade.

Austin likely to go for a deal involving a future pick from Melbourne. No other movements mentioned.

Was a terrible 1st round pick. Not sure what they were expecting. Never looked like a high (ish) draft pick.

I thought she showed glimpses in her first year, but just never came on after that.

Judging on the trade, it seems we don't think much of her chances of becoming a valuable player.

If Stevens is worth a 2nd round pick, surely Skepper is better than 4ths & 5ths

So essentially:
Austin for Boileau
F1 for Whitfort
F3 for Bella
Skepper (probably wouldn't be in our best team) and Torpey (would not get a game behind Bella, Good, Harrington) out to free list spots.

And we go to the draft with our first pick still.
Have definitely upgraded the team for next season.
