When he came back last year, the excitement levels were high. For him to kick on from that and be All Australian chef kiss
When he arrived at the club my biggest wish was that he could mark. And boy can he mark.

Dawson has to be captain, led his club to the minor premiership, lifted in key moments in big games, a Brownlow favourite.

Anderson flopped against Port when his team needed him most and their side should be better than just scraping into the 8.

Plus Thilthorpe and Worrell.

Keane and even Milera should be in the squad.

So this is who I’d have as my team this year

Only contentious decisions I see is if the selectors for some reason look to wedge Nick Vlastuin in instead purely based on ‘no prior recognition’ reasons, but in my eyes if you finish 2nd to last with a percentage in the 60s a defender in that team needs to have a ridiculously abnormal super year to make the team.

Weitering versus Wilkie is one that could go either way - think Weitering just beats him due to some of their pure defending stats, the tall defender spot is probably the hardest position to pick this year as there hasn’t been any standouts. Andrews almost gets the other position due to default and a strong finish to the year when he’s had to hold up without Payne back there.

The rest I think picks itself, Gunston edges out Georgiades, King & Naughton, and I have Serong just in front of Neale, Green & Callaghan due to his overall impact in getting Freo over the line in games.

Dawson, Worrell and Thilthorpe all make it for me.

Wouldn't be surprised if Worrell gets squeezed out being as it's his first big year.
Not many Woozle’s in contention with for that 3rd tall defender spot

Keane, Andrews, Collins, Taylor, Battle the other tall defenders named

There's an argument for all of Thilthorpe, Dawson, Worrell and Keane making in based on their form, our ladder position and the respective strength of our forward and defensive lines.
Don’t think Keane will make it ahead of Taylor and Andrews, but he’s absolutely worthy of being in the conversation

His rise has been extraordinary
