Gather Round tickets snapped up in record time

The AFL is pleased to announce that more than 195,000 Gather Round…Festival of Footy tickets have sold… with five of the nine games sold out, 20,000 more than this time last year.

Member on sale on Tuesday saw a significant uplift in demand for tickets this year, selling more than 100,000 tickets in the first four hours, in comparison to the same amount in 24 hours last year.

This year there are an extra 47,000 tickets on offer for fans with the two Saturday matches being ticketed separately.

Tickets still remain for Collingwood vs Sydney Swans on Friday night, Carlton vs West Coast on Saturday afternoon, Melbourne vs Essendon on Saturday night and a very limited number of restricted view tickets and tickets for the Pepsi Collective for Port Adelaide vs Hawthorn on Sunday evening.

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon said it was clear Gather Round momentum was not slowly down.

“The demand for tickets this year was significantly higher than the first two Gather Rounds, with more than 195,000 tickets being purchased in the first two days,” said Mr Dillon.

“A ticket to the matches at the Barossa Park was always going to be one of the hottest tickets in town and the fans have certainly illustrated that by selling out both matches so quickly.”

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said: “Gather Round continues to exceed all expectations.

“We are honoured that so many footy fans from around the country are making the commitment to travel to our beautiful state to experience this event like no other.

“They’ll be truly welcome.

“If you haven’t got a ticket already – get in quick!”

Tickets for the remaining matches can be found here.

With respect to this comment, even footy classified called out the AFL for fudging numbers this year. It's widely known that they have done it for a few games.

The mcg post crowd figures independently, but no Sam McClure knows best. The guy hasn't broken a story in about 5 years along with 'Damo'. The Tuesday version of classified is alright, coz Morris and Eddie usually have some gossip, but the Monday version is a few idiots sitting around a table speculating, with no intel on anything.

* I can attest genericusername is an actual footy fan though and not a leaguie troll like a lot of others on here.

You're predictable trolling efforts are embarrassing.

Troll questioning someone else's age.

Why don't you **** off somewhere else with some other like minded AFL hating dickheads and spu your bullshit there.

Of course the numbers were fudged.
Lmao, thanks for the laugh. Now Go cry elsewhere troll

Last nights finals crowd of 57,507 was the smallest ever at Perth Stadium (excluding 2 games during covid years with no Perth teams).

It is even smaller than two home and away season games…

Wasn't it wet during the day. May have knocked off 1-2k

I have no doubt about that considering Sam McClure is probably the biggest idiot out there, but it doesn't mean that they still can't find the exact number

Mate your comments are embarrassing. How old are you? Anyway, footy classified august 4th 2025. Feel free to watch that episode where they called out the AFL for fudging the Melbourne vs West Coast attendance.
And how did someone on footy classified know?

Yer the weather was pretty lousy all day with showers on and off…during the actual game there was only 1 decent shower.

We went (top deck) and there was 1 slightly obstructed view seat in the row in front of us that was not taken otherwise it was full in our bay, you could see groups of spare seats in other bays in the top deck though.

4500 for the Swans AFLW team at Henson Park today. There is a clear distinction between them and other teams in the competition in terms of home attendance.

Its pretty embarrassing for the heartland footy areas.

I was thinking the men's could play there during the Easter show with the swans being silly about the scg. But then I was looking up the dimensions and it looks tiny, I dunno if the numbers are even right coz on tv the size of the ground looks pretty normal, but the measurements I saw had it ridiculously small. That area loves attending games so the giants could tap into a nice little pocket in the inner west there, by playing a men's game annually during that blackout period.

Yeah but there is a reason its named a park rather than a stadium. Its little more than a grassed hill for spectators. Not really a viable option.

As a one off could be alright, no different to a lot of rectangle or cricket venues that are used professionally.
Look the reason I would be against using Henson Park is that you want to give the impression to Sydneysiders that the Giants are a serious team playing out of modern venues with facilities that patrons expect. Playing out of Henson Park wont fit that bill IMO, and just because other sports lower themselves to be content with venues like that doesn't mean the AFL should. Although in saying that, the smaller venues during gather round may be an exception to the general high standard modern venues the AFL plays out of.

That's put things back on track is the Gabba able to get 35,000 for Lions V Suns?
Easily. Last four finals at the Gabba (since Covid)

EF 2024 Brisbane v Carlton 35,660
PF 2023 Brisbane v Carlton 36,012
QF 2023 Brisbane v Port Adel 36,040
EF 2022 Brisbane v Richmond 35,022

Could this top 37,000?

Really hoping this is the 2016 QF Swans v Giants moment for the Q Clash. Until now that rivalry has had no spark…

Now means the Western Derby (the original two team rivalry) is the only one to never play off in a final.

WA Footy has arranged for $5 of your ticket to the WAFL Grand Final to go to your local club if you use their relevant Ticketmaster link. Hopefully it sees an uplift in attendance, with local clubs sprucing tickets sales for attendance and therefore fundraising.

Link to all the clubs:

I like this idea, as I sent the WAFC an email three years ago suggesting exactly this.

This thread has lost its way this year rip.

It´s lost it´s way because the same veteran troll is doing what he's been doing for years, spuing his same bullshit but under different names and the mods either can´t see it or just let him do it. Those that see through it are just calling it out.

Twice the capacity of Alice Springs and an upgrade in progress.

Anyway, back to AFL attendances. Any word on how the finals have been selling?
The Crows Hawks game is going to a general public onsale unlike last week but they are already selling restricted view so its probably very close to sold out.
I do note that there is a category called "fully restricted view" - why even bother. Paying $20 to hear the crowd I guess.

Just buy the ticket and go straight to standing
