Whats even more amazing about Heidelberg's run to the final is going through the results Heidelberg haven't even conceded a goal in all four national round matches three against A-League opponents.
Great cup runs that no one will ever know about. Even if they win the whole thing the cup competition being so far off Broadway even the most ardent football tragic has little idea what's playing out.
The whole point of the comp was to have a big mid week competition with the cup final during the season on Australia Day, whereas now it's on random days all in the preseason....

Sadly I think it will go the some way as the AFL preseason comp if it continues to be played as a preseason comp. A-League clubs not taking it serious enough and using the competition as a way to play and trial youth players mixed with the fact the ACL2 isn't a prestigious award for winning the competition.
Bulk of the games in July and August, 2-3 months before the season starts will end the cup.
They could have round of 32 spread across this week and it would be much better timing.

Unfortunately this is the probably when the A-League and NPL seasons are not aligned.

They should briing in temporary stands for either end at BJS to give it a real good atmosphere.
Hopefully ticket sales makes them do it

Even if they don't do it anyway. Showcase the game. It sucks having spectators at either end miles from the goals. Simple 1000 seat scaffold at either end would make a huge difference.
Make tickets 20 bucks each. Kids free. Get the atmosphere pumping.

I think the seats are around $30, so pretty reasonable price imo
