Good on baz to get 29 given that Cameron and Holmes got nearly 20 each.
Helped Rowell that apart from Anderson no one else got votes. Good for him although the voting is a joke.

Ridiculous Brownlow, Rowell is a great player but he wasn't the best in the comp this year. Neither was Naicos though, so I'm just glad he didn't get a BS Brownlow to unjustifiably enhance his legacy with.

Surely this debacle tonight has to be the catalyst for change though. Enough is enough. Either take voting away from the umpires and give it to someone else or make it so that the medal is decided by a combination of umpires votes and votes of other groups or literally just scrap the whole award and replace it with another system. The status quo can't remain.

I thought Priddis winning it in 2014 was the biggest joke in the history of the award, but this will take the cake.

There was one player in the competition who was head-and-shoulders above anyone else in the comp. But, that's how the crumbles.

Viney had 23 and 16 tackles compared to NWM 34 and 4 goals including 2 in the last 15 seconds to win it

Add to that, Rowell getting votes with low disposals and high tackles and I think the only logical conclusion is the Tom Atkins has been screwed out of a Brownlow tonight

That was truly astonishing. I watched that game and thought, "If ever I've seen the three vote game from a player, it's this game" and I was not thinking of Viney.

Not sure how people still can't distinguish that a Brownlow Medal is NOT an MVP award

It is an award for the Fairest and Best player as adjudicated by the umpires over a season

It is a prestigious award that is time honored but it is NOT to be cross referenced with stats and analysis because it is not for the games most outstanding player.
