Brownlow is *ed. How the * does LDU get votes in a 85 point demolition to hawks. Umps are cooked.
Send secret agent Rawling in to sort it out.Genius to hand out scholarships to talented 16 year olds.
Baffling.Taranto 20 votes, wtf ?
Yes I think you have to take it for what it is, a flawed award that’s grown too big. I also remember when Peter Hudson kicked 16 but only got one vote, an umpire was asked about it and said he thought he’d only kicked 5 or 6.Round 6 1993, V Sydney, we were a ****teenth from kicking a record high score (229) and we beat Sydney by 21 goals. McAdam kicked 10, Longmire 9, Ishchenko and Schwass were dominant yet Scott Watters polled votes.
These quirks have been going for years, makes the award interesting!!

Go for a drive down afl houseI agree. I drive a forklift and when I make a mistake it certainly makes things interesting.
If North ever get good, Sheezel surely wins at least one Brownlow. He is tailored-made for this award.View attachment 2434993

Your club's Brownlow: West Coast's horror night, Tiger's hot streak
We break down how your club fared during the 2025 Brownlow Medal countwww.afl.com.au
I dont like when people say its a hard game to umpire. Its really the easiest game to umpire. Bouncing the ball in the air is the hardest thing about umpiring, getting out of the way and probably the fitness to make every ball up. Other than that, its ****in easy. These days umpires are no good at their actual job of umpiring, so expecting them to be able to identify the best performers in a game is surely a bridge too far
Why would we need to make the Brownlow the Coaches Votes.
That's why we have the Coaches Award.
Or we could have experts vote on it - like they do in every Media Award under the sun or in choosing an All Australian Team.
The Brownlow is the Brownlow. It is what it is, and what it has always been, just celebrate it for that.
I love that it is quirky, that there are odd results thrown up. It's nigh on impossible for 4 umpires to rig it. It's just what they see and it ain't always perfect. It makes it what it is.
Whinging about it doesn't mean you're right and that it has to be "fair"
Matthews and Carey never won one.
