Yep

It’s from 70-100% speed that takes time

Max won’t lose any fitness , he will get alot of running in under 80% of his max speed
4-6 weeks is a pretty bad one isn’t it?
Surprising as max didn’t look upset at all considering the time of year he’s done it.

Didn't someone say he'd never had a hamstring previously, apparently he only reported he felt tightness at the time but the medicos and physios on inspection pulled him immediately so they must have had a clue?

I didn’t see that but I guess that’s a distinct possibility if he’s never had one.

Great question BRL121 - I was thinking the same and hope the club was just being ultra conservative with the timeframe.

Week 1 of finals is pretty much exactly 6 weeks from when he did it.

Jeff - what are you thoughts on when you think Rachele will return and how much fitness will he lose?

He said on 9 News last night that he felt a pop? On the replay you can see him pull up after he kicks it long down the line. Could it be that it involved a tendon?

Yep like others said if you’ve never done one you don’t really understand the severity

If he does one again he will know next time !

Don’t know enough about rachele’s specifics to comment confidently but it would be a win if he could get back for sanfl game in the finals bye , that’s prob best cast scenario. Anything more a huge bonus

The good news is if we can get thru the next month well it might be a nice little bonus to get these 2 back

One thing re the wet game that is something to look out for is the kicking of a heavy ball puts alot of extra load on hamstrings

There’s actually far less running but the loading on long kicks in particular is severe , wouldnt surprise if a factor re max . Hopefully don’t have any more hammies on Friday as result of last weekend

I think a closer answer is that the amount of pain you may feel or express does not correlate with the extent of injury. Im speaking from past injuries on a personal level.

I did one playing basketball, back in the day, and it was just a little tug.

And I kept playing for a bit, and I could feel it not being quite right. Didn't hurt much, and then the next day it was really sore, limping around, all that stuff. I think you'd know about it a lot more if it's a tendon as opposed to a muscle tear. It would be instantly hard to walk.

We've lost a player every week for the past 4 weeks. Can't afford any further injuries leading into finals.

Anyone heard anything about Woz? He grabbed his shoulder in the third (I think) and Nicks said post game he popped his shoulder out. Didn’t look like it affected him at all.
I didn't hear that but he played on very well so hopefully he's ok. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the one rested this week if that was the case.
