I imagine they have thought this through and maybe not targeting Grlj due to the trade down, but if we are keen on Grlj and he went at 12 or 13, that little trade down to pick 14 might sting a bit

I'm glad Sydney will have to match a Max King bid, probably in the 20s. Them having picks 31 and 32 before us makes me nervous that's where an early Darcy bid could have come from.

They were the ones who bid on Croft in the first round a few years ago too...

I have seen it mentioned that we are looking at players with a speed/endurance combo.

Looking at some draft profiles and looks like Phillipou, Nairn, Burton, Rodriguez, Barker, Taylor, Cumming and Grlj fit that profile.

Any others that fit that combo?

Hunter Holmes but he is probably Geelong bound.

Code sports:

The Bulldogs had been exploring a potential move up the draft order by packaging up their first two picks, but nothing was locked in during the trade period at least. Regardless, the club believes there will be some “exciting and diverse” talent available to it. The Dogs could do with another young key defender to develop and should get that in father-son prospect Will Darcy, who is the son of Luke and brother of Sam. Exactly where a bid comes for the raw but promising 198cm tall isn’t completely clear, but it is likely to be after the Bulldogs’ second pick as it stands. So, if the Dogs retain their first pick where it is, they could look to add some outside run and class, with players like Woodville-West Torrens midfielder-forward Jevan Phillipou, Eastern Ranges rebounding defender Oskar Taylor, Sturt wingman Harley Barker or Dandenong Stingrays forward-midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves being potential options.

Most get taken before our picks but I’m hoping we get a choice of/or one falls to us

1st pick: Grlj, Dovaston, Lindsay, Cumming

2nd pick: Phillipou, NHH, O. Taylor, Barker

I know even less about draft prospects than I do most things. But if this description is accurate he fits into Regans statement today that we are going to prioritise speedy run and carry types and at least one developing tall. Who I took to mean Will Darcy. Where this leaves this boards crush Lachy Dovastan I know not.
I liked Olli Greeves too earlier in the year who looked like a top 10 pick but Regan's comments probably rule the kid out as he's not quick.

I haven't watched any of Sam Allen however his profile suggests he is strong athletically. Anyone see any of him? Seems to play mostly wing but was going to play more inside this year from reports.
