Taking two picks into the draft is absolutely best business. There is no obligation to fill both spots if the players you want are already off the board but you have the ability to grab someone if they slip through the cracks. Still every chance we only take one player.Common sense prevails! Free hits!

No it relates to senior list spots, so the national draft only.Teams have to draft a minimum of three players each draft don't they? So if we sign someone in the MSD on a 18 month contract, would that count for one of the three come the off-season period? As in we'd only have to make two draft picks instead of three?
In that case, I'm assuming that even though the MSD draft picks are filling open senior list spots. They are only counted as being similar to rookie picks / temporary contracts? Even the ones on get drafted on an 18 month contract? No it relates to senior list spots, so the national draft only.
Yes they're drafted as category A rookies, not senior listed players. They are eligible to be upgraded at the end of the season like any other rookie player (provided there is a list spot available), which does count as one of the three required senior list changes. Clubs just need to conform to list requirements (min/max number of main list and rookie players) by the end of the final list lodgement date each year so there's often list rebalancing required post MSD selections. In that case, I'm assuming that even though the MSD draft picks are filling open senior list spots.
