Farrow had another good game this time out of defence. Here is the Rookie me write up of his game against the Allies.

#24 Jacob Farrow (West Perth)
Defender | 188cm | 21/09/2007

Stats: 29 disposals, 9 marks, 7 rebound 50s

Arguably Western Australia’s best in a losing cause, Farrow provided plenty of bounce out of the backline with a whopping 803 metres gained. His penetrative left-foot kicking was a particular weapon, with 24 of his 29 disposals being kicks, as Farrow looked to distribute the ball with purpose and directness. He also showcased some of his intercept mark qualities, able to take the ball cleanly overhead on several occasions. Farrow snuck forward at the death in search of a game-winning score, but couldn’t quite get enough purchase on his hand-off from beyond 50 metres.

I’d be very happy to trade our first rounder for a moderate player from another list this year. I know every draft has its gems but this year just looks so beige and our picks will be late enough again we might as well target a mature age from someone else’s list. If Carlton continue to implode I wouldn’t mind having a crack at Motlop to see if a new club switches him on. Good forward pressure but hasn’t really made it at Carlton. I think he has more talent than he’s showing at the moment and I’m pretty sure he’s OOC at the end of the year.

Really liking Farrow or Dovaston for our first this year & like the look of the SA wingers as previously mentioned. Also I think western jet Finn Davis later in the draft would be a potential steal.

Really liking Dovaston 👍
Got some mungrel about him....in the range for our pick.
With Flea as the great unknown, we need a 1st choice small fwd, unless Garcia can step into the westy role.

Lachy looks like a huge upgrade on Lachie which is very much needed

Like Dovaston as small forward, would still like a young key defender like Taj Murray if we could get him. Need to think about Rory Lobb replacement, and what will Liam jones do next year.

Do you have more info on Taj?
Rookie me has Taj as a Key fwd/ruck in the 10-20 range, no mention of him as a key back. Just kicked 4 against S.A.

Jett could also fit the role of Lobb, as rookie me showed he was a key fwd swung down back.
Do you recon he'll last in the draft to rookie?
Just made the round 11 team of the week, is he a know quantity amongst teams.
He is very much a long term project player. Will either be very late or rookie if he gets picked up at this stage.

I too am a fan of Davis although I do like alot of the Jets players.
Who are the other jets boys you’re interesting in? I think I read somewhere, you actually may have posted it; that our new recruiter worked at Williamstown where Davis played juniors so I’m hoping he is in our thinking.

Luke Williams is now a recruiter at the dogs but was formerly the talent lead at the Jets. Here is an interview he did prior to the season. https://central.rookieme.com/afl/2025/03/27/2025-coates-talent-league-western-jets-season-preview/
Obviously all our acadamy kids are at the Jets so they're naturally of interest.
McGuane is probably the best of this year's crop but Pies F/S.
Oskar Ainsworth is also one that I like the look of late and I still think McCarroll is developable but probably not a need for us.
Only two Jets players were drafted last year (Grego 48, Matofai-Forbes 69) If McGuane, Davis, Burton, Ainsworth, McCarroll and Williams were all drafted it'd be the most drafted from the Jets since 1994.

Ahh yes, thats what the link was. Definitely seem like they have a promising crew down there. Hopefully we can grab a couple.

bit of an unpopular opinion

i would love for our acadmey to become strong enough that we only have to use our first rounder on outside talent

With the remaining picks being kids in our system over the last 5+ years

Def help ease players into roles since the pre-development is all done

We’ve got up to four kids next year, yeah? West, Cooney, Marial, El Souki
