I quite like the look of Avery Thomas in the 2nd round too. Good one on one type that can intercept as well. Likened to Isaac Quaynor, but he can play a bit taller. Has very good closing speed.
I don’t know why this year I prefer the later first to early/mid second round picks over the potential top tens

Besides the academy players, the only one I really like is Sharp.. who has a lot of people thinking he will drop a bit. I personally think he’s the second best player

I really like Sharp too and I have thought many times West Coast should pick him at 2. I think it's just more about how much improvement does he have left? He really hasn't progressed much from when he was a 16 year old and might be close to peaking.

I thought the players at the top end would progress a bit more and that non trade with North Melbourne isn't looking as bad as I first thought. Even Duursma who many have as No 1, I can find him a bit underwhelming at times.

Same. Exactly what we need. Super athletic, really competitive in the air and on the ground, defensively minded.

Would be a miracle if he were there at our current second pick.

I think he might be only because he doesn't get much of the ball. Not sure if he was injured, but only 4 disposals on the weekend and averages under 10 disposals in the Coates league. One game he was injured in though.

I think it would be smart to pick up Jackson Voss as a late pick or a rookie this draft. He's older at 23 but he looks like he can make the jump to the AFL.

edit: Does it look likely that Kobe Williams actually gets drafted? He showed some nice signs in the VFL the other week but haven't heard squat about the Hawks being keen on nominating him.

This will be by pick for the whole draft process. Concerned that he now seems to be moving into the consensus top 10.

''Taylor reads the cues of midfielders like few others, knows when to peel off, how to cut angles and takes big grabs with ease.

A mad Richmond supporter, Taylor grew up modelling his game on premiership Tigers Nick Vlastuin and Nathan Broad and has comparable traits with the way he acts as a general in defence.

Early in 2025, his Coates League coach Lauren Morecroft told Zero Hanger of a desire to play him on different types of forwards to help showcase the breadth of his skillset and he's relished the challenge.''

I think Williams will be lucky to get Cat B listed to be honest. Not enough AFL traits

How many Cat B spots do we have available? I’d like Williams & Hicks on the list, personally think both have enough talent to be developed.

Two after we upgrade JOD. I think you can take an international rookie as well. We were looking at a few basketballers a couple months ago from memory.

ITK posters have us interested in Jacob Farrow & now Harry Scott.
Any others that we are rumoured to be keen on at this stage?

I'm still dreaming of the day we sign an Irish player

Yeah Bernie Collins. I met him one night at a supporters night. The story he told me was he went to the beach, fell a sleep in the sun and woke up hours later bright red.
Could be apocryphal but there was a story that Collins came out with Tadhg Kennelly, the two being brought out on spec to join the Swans and the Bulldogs. Supposedly there was a toss of the coin to decide which player went to which club…

Sullivan Robey (eastern) as a midfielder looks like an exciting prospect. 192cm, had 40 touches & 3 goals in a final. Should be flying up the draft boards after that.
Powerful unit already & knows where the goals are.
What's his pre draft range?? 1st or 2nd rounder.
This does sound like Cooper's resume, I'd like a defensive midfielder, a MKennedy replacement who's been brillent.

With all the F/S and academy picks Im more open to trading our 1st for a Wilkie type.
2nd round picks may jump due to picks being used for F/S academy's.
