Yeah, those two and Farrow are the guys I really want. I think my first choice would be Taylor, so I’d make that trade and draft him.

Say they offer their second rounder or something to jump a single pick ahead..

Hard to say until exit meetings/trade period/FA take place and we know how many list spots we have available.

If Farrow is on the board though I would just select him.

Bringing next year's pick forward is actually a great ploy in regards to the Butters pursuit.
It would make Port more inclined to take the compo pick rather than matching and taking whatever picks we could cobble together for a trade.
Obviously very dependant on where they finish but it could be say 1 top 10 pick versus a future first and a couple of seconds.
Maybe we could orchestrate another lopsided trade to help convince them to take the compo also.

Ah this Brisbane approach. Trade your obvious trade capital out to force the opposition to take unders!

How much attention does the AFL give to lopsided trades in the same window as a FA move? Would they tick off, for example, on trading a F1 for Christian Moraes?

Also nice to have an independent measure of a players height before we knock 2-4cm off some and add 2-4cm to others post draft.

Pretty much any combinations of players will be good if we nail the trade period

Unless we decide to go mental and load up on three forward rucks lol

Seen the Josh Smilie comparisons but Robey seems to use his size more than what Smilie did at the same level

So for those who have seen more of Frankston this season, why do we think of Tom Blamires? Just won the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell medal which is generally a good indicator of talent who can make the step up.

Ethan Phillips was a defender spoken about last year.

What happened there ?
Did he have a drop off in form or just never reached expectations.

I did hear some rumours of him being a bit of a loose unit. I personally think he lacked the athleticism to make the next step up.

He's a bit different to our other young mids, very physical and loves to tackle not unlike Tom Atkins. Should be a late pick, a bit limited as a player. I think he's more then likely to end up as a tagger if he makes, not sure that suits Bevo, but we were looking at Brew I guess.

If I’m Essendon I’m going for Xavier Taylor immediately and then Greeves & Robey

Cumming would suit them to but keeping the teammates together they’ve already got some chemistry on the field down and every finals/tough game illustrates how important the hard ball winners are to the outcome

So do I but Dovaston isn't far behind and fills a need just as much as Farrow.

I'm the opposite, mainly because I'm not entirely confident Farrow becomes a midfielder. I was looking at the Ed Richards thread the other day and looking at that I was pretty confident Richards could be a midfielder at the next level. I'm not as confident with Farrow as he can struggle to get the ball in the midfield even against better opposition at WAFL colts level which is a much lower level compared to the Coates league.

Either way it's pretty close and I wouldn't be upset either way.
