Reckon Burton is flying under the radar a bit.
Having trained with us during pre-season we would know what he is capable of. If he is still available late I wonder if we will consider using another pick.

No doubt his running ability, speed & leadership are all traits we look for.

The draft should be much closer to the end of trade week than it is IMO. Still being almost a month away is dumb and drags things out after trade period with list management decisions and down time. Could easily have it the first week of Nov and then give the draftees more time to get sorted and report to their teams, rather than rushed in December before they break for Christmas.

Its done so the kids can complete their VCE exams before the draft.

Im coming around to Oskar Taylor, he is Mile Sheehans write up. I also heard Dylan Alexander compare him to Harrison Oliver, who a lot of us would have been happy to take last year. Got a better athletic profile than Oliver and a few people in the know have commented on his skills being sound and defensive intent also a highlight.

I feel at worst he can be a lockdown small defender, at best he can play that role but also really help us rebound quickly off half back.

Oskar Taylor
State: Victoria Metro
State League Club: Eastern Ranges
Community Club: South Belgrave
Date of Birth: 01/08/2007
Height: 183cm

Medium defender and midfielder with explosive speed and a penetrating left foot who went from strength to strength as the year unfolded. Taylor is a strong one-on-one player with a defend first mindset who grew in confidence as the season progressed to earn a late call-up to the national Draft Combine with a string of outstanding performances. Played a major role in the Eastern Ranges premiership win in the Coates Talent League, averaging 20.5 disposals in 17 matches. Had a great final series to top off a breakout year and finished runner-up in the Ranges’ best and fairest award. Showed elite athletic qualities at the Draft Combine, producing the quickest 20m sprint with a time of 2.82 seconds and ranking second on the agility test with a time of 7.84 seconds.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on where Will Darcy will start his career?, is he going to be a Project Key Forward or Key Defender?, if the club think he’s better suited up forward then surely they are going to draft another key defender with one the first two picks in this draft before hopefully our draft hand is wiped out next year and Tasmania apparently coming in the year after
Just think this is the year to go tall, doesn’t seem to be a great deal of Key Defenders in this draft going high besides Dean and Taylor, maybe we do trade the first pick out this year for a future

All the teams with * next to it should be impacted with matching bids so I'm thinking we have the 3rd or 4th pick on the second night?

I think ideally he'll be a Blakey type defender who can intercept but also do damage on the rebound. He is a beautiful kick just like his brother, crazy good for someone his height.

I’m a big fan of Harley barker would love to grab him at our second. (Highlight watcher only)

Take the best of who ever slides to our pick in the first round I feel like we are in a pretty good position heading into the draft lots of decent players up for grabs between our 2 first picks

I feel like we’ll need to take him with our first. But I agree, think he is perfect for us.

Wings sorted long term with Barker + Davidson.

Cameron Nairn is an interesting one of he can develop to get up the ground more. His kicking is beautiful and his set shot remind me of Tory Dickson with just how much of a deadeye he is.
