Have been told we're looking at a draft bolter that no one will be expecting on draft night...

Also we're not expecting a bid until late for Will Darcy but there's alot of optimism that he could end up being of the same calibre as Sam with the same ability to kick both feet and competitiveness that Sam possesses he's just had alot less exposure

Considering our draft coup over the last few years, I’m in the yes camp. We have a lot of young talent pushing best 23 next year.

And who knows how quickly they develop once in an elite environment as well.
Im leaning the otherway and would prefer to pick atleast one if not to overage/mature guys

I'm the sole hold out against Oskar Taylor?
I'm not sure his kicking holds up at AFL level and he needs work on his decision making by foot. Shame, as he does everything else.

All the guys in our draft range are flawed but NHH at least wins games. Stands up in big moments and kicks goals. I like that, shame he didn't test at the combine.

Grlj I'm still a massive fan of but he won't last to us.
Give me a player with that trait any day. They just find ways to impose themselves at the right moment. Unless he has out and out deficiencies that can’t be ignored I’d take him without hesitation.

I'm not sure he lasts until our second rounder anymore. He's no Robey but he projects at the second draft bolter this year.

Not sure if you've been told this much, but bolter with our 1st pick or 2nd? Assuming 1st... Would make sense considering the trade we made to drop back a few spots to get the Budarick pick then if we are going a bolter anyway, may as well trade down a few spots again to upgrade another pick

Would love to trade back and upgrade 33 for two in the early 20s and grab one of NHH / Taylor / Barker and Krasnadamskis with Darcy late.

I'm not entirely sure as to who that bolter might be, maybe Nairn considering we have been said to be drafting with an emphasis on endurance.

Could be Sam Allen. Considering he was considered to be a top 10 prospect at the start of the season but went out with ACL. He's an elite arial and endurance player with good speed.

He doesn’t feature in any of the mock drafts ?
Liked what I saw of his highlights.
Looks a versatile type.

Shifters write up:
Sam Allen
State: Victoria Metro
State League Club: Oakleigh Chargers
Community Club: Glen Iris
Date of Birth: 13/01/2007
Height: 182cm

A well-balanced and smooth-moving wingman, Allen’s elite running capacity separates him from others. He runs a sub six-minute 2km time trial but also looks capable of playing on the inside as well. During pre-season testing, Allen showcased his athletic capacity and power by ranking No.1 nationally in the running vertical jump with a leap of 101cm. He started the year well with the Oakleigh Chargers, averaging 21.3 disposals (9.3 contested) across the first three rounds before suffering a season-ending ACL injury at training. Is now on the road to a full recovery. Allen is the grandson of former Melbourne best and fairest winner Ray Groom, who later became premier of Tasmania and is a member of the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame
