Probably Nairn?
He shares alot of similarities to Poulter for me, tall wingman good endurance lacks physicality, limited defensively and question marks about whether he will ever fill out enough to operate inside a contest. He is about 3 or 4cm shorter then Poulter (depending on source) but has better leap and also better infront of goal.Disclaimer I’m only going off highlights videos here but cam Nairn doesn’t excite me much . Seems like a Bailey fritsch type. Pretty vanilla which aligns with what smiley is saying I guess. Would be okay with him at our second but someone with a higher ceiling would be nice for pick 14
I think he was extremely unexpected a week ago (atleast at our first), things don't stay unexpected long though with so many reporters and column writers covering the draft now for a 24 hour news cycle.I don't know the draft well enough this year to speculate just know it's going to be someone unexpected

All of that sounds very underwhelming to me. I guess worst case he becomes another target up forward along side Naughton and Darcy. Any idea who we take if Nairn is off the board with Melbourne and gws both apparently big fansHe shares alot of similarities to Poulter for me, tall wingman good endurance lacks physicality, limited defensively and question marks about whether he will ever fill out enough to operate inside a contest. If Nairn goes earlier it'll force someone else to fall, potentially Oskar Taylor. Worst case I imagine we grab Josh Lindsay however that would've been only a fantasy 3 months ago.All of that sounds very underwhelming to me. Knowing us, it'll be a over-ager NAB league player in the Vandermeer mould. The bolter is apparently a real vanilla moneyball kind of pick i don't know the draft well enough to speculate who it is but he apparently ticks all our boxes
Might not play out this way but I think we have to be prepared for lots of flexibility. There's every chance we don't take any player at the top end or do multiple draft day trades. ie trade 14+33 for something for the future and then trade some combination of a future picks to trade back into the draft when we like a player live not yet taken.
I think there's a reasonable chance we take Darcy + only one other live selection (whatever it entails, trading up/down/future picks or whatever), then pass whatever our last pick is to hold it over to the SSP.
If we bid at 14 it'd be tough for them to match after Uwland and Patterson. We are in love with Jai Murray (Suns Academy), expect us to bid on him with pick 14.
That’s what we are hoping for, that they can’t match. If we bid at 14 it'd be tough for them to match after Uwland and Patterson.

I know this wasn't directed at me but very similar to Lindsay. He missed alot of football this year but is one of the best kicks in the draft when given space, has enough speed but not blistering. When in defence he is purely a rebounder and doesn’t contribute as much defensively as we perhaps require. What stands him above Lindsay is that he has also shown form on the wing and has spent time on the inside. What’s he like mate?
Fox Sports - “a composed, smooth-moving player with great endurance and line-breaking ability. The industry view is Murray's bid range starts at the Western Bulldogs (Pick 14), with Geelong (Pick 19) and Fremantle (Pick 20) also strongly considering calling his name.”What’s he like mate?
Whilst his speed isn't a strength I wouldn't say it's necessarily a weakness, like Lindsay he ran a 3 second 20m and has good composure in traffic.Says his weakness is speed, overhead marking, and that opposition pressure can nullify his usual good kicking game. Probably three things you want to be half decent at if you want to be a winger at AFL level.
So if recent rumours are anything to go by it looks like we are targeting Jai Murray & Oskar Ainsworth with our active picks outside of Darcy.
A lot of rumours of us bidding early on academy players. I wonder whether we are trying to pressure those teams into a trade for points? So if recent rumours are anything to go by it looks like we are targeting Jai Murray & Oskar Ainsworth with our active picks outside of Darcy.
Agree, like the look of him. Seems really tough as well. Will combine well with Hynes. Gives our side that extra brute force.I actually wouldn't mind Ainsworth later on in the draft, powerful, athletic and highly competitive. Has upside too. Could be a genuine mid in the future.
