The players we have been linked to aren’t giving the “vanilla, moneyball bolter” type that we’ve been told we’re into. Perhaps that was Jai Murray or Lachlan Carmichael but we could have some surprises up our sleeve with our selections.

The main difference is Cal is right and ESPN isn't

Cal got every club connection and gets like 99% right
No doubt Twomey is the best predictor, but he is not infallible.

2013-24 he got top 10 pick predictions right 87% of the time.

At pick 11-20, his strike rate is 41%.

His prediction beyond pick 10 is a good guide only.

He also reckons this year has been the hardest to predict.

I know we used Gallagher around ball and as a HHF, but is there no reason he couldn't go back to Half-Back where we drafted him (and he excelled at in Juniors)? Seems to be a bit of a forgotten man.

I wouldn't mind us having another look at Thredgold instead of Lindsay, especially if we could eke an F2 or early F3 out of shifting back a few spots.

Gallagher is one i'm watching with interest and unsure where his best position is. His problem at half back will be disposal and decision making which both need some improvement and stands out in the back half when you make mistakes. His ideal version would be the Budarick role in the future as another lock down defender who can give you a bit of run.

I have no idea who Emmett is, but I like the sound of him. Hopefully he can send us back to the future to change a few things so we end up drafting elite players year after year and stop Geelong, Hawthorn, Brisbane and Richmond winning all those flags.

Geelong like Lindsay too and in discussion with GWS about moving up to take him at their pick, if the Giants targets are gone.

I really rate Emmett I think he would have gone around our first pick if not for injury. I like the idea of him in defence aswell from the few games I have seen him pla there. He has that big man aura about him which is nice to see.

I've seen us linked to Barker a fair bit throughout, he seems a fair chance of slipping to our 2nd pick by the look of it. A couple of journalists linked us to NHH earlier in the month also, even at our 1st pick. Both could be in the mix here.
I’d still very much love Barker. He has played half back at times as well as wing so has flexibility.

I'd he stoked with Barker at our second

Cats have done alot of work on him, done zooms with family and friends aswell this week. Would be shocked if he fell to us, but pleasantly suprised.
Yeah I think he goes before our second. If we want him we’ll need to take him with our first. I’ve been a huge fan since early in the year, would hate to see him at Geelong. Think he’ll be an A-grade talent.

Considering our comments re: speed/endurance/half-backs, I think Oskar Taylor is the perfect fit. If he is still on the board you’d think we would pounce.
Definitely has some Richards about him, would be an exciting prospect to add to our list.
