So our trade back 2 spots to get the Budarick pick ended up costing us Nairn. Interested to see if we would have gone him or Lindsay if we were still on the clock here. Hopefully Lindsay falls still

Surprised GWS went Taylor. They have some decent runners in defence as it is.
So many players leave the Giants after a few years they have to take whoever they think won't request a trade after 2 years essentially (same reason they bid on a Sydney player - in theory if the bid isn't matched at least there's no go home factor.)

They draft for speed across all zones. Not a bad strategy the way the game is moving.

Hopefully we get Lindsay if he was our main focus all along because if not, these trade downs will be very costly.

Eagles have the Saints F2 also so imagine it was that pick they traded, still a decent one though if so

I’m sure we wouldn’t have made the trades to move down if they had someone they really wanted.

We’ve done well in our recent drafts. I trust our list team.

As good as some clubs have done this first round
Melbournes two picks seem fairly shocking
Especially considering what and who they’ve lost

Can understand what the bidding system complainers are on about.

You miss finals and you have the old traditional draft mindset of "on we missed finals so we get one of the 10 best youngsters running around in the draft".

See 2005 - miss finals, 3 priority picks, get [PLAYERCARD]Shaun Higgins[/PLAYERCARD] (pick 11).

Yet somehow we've ended up with pick 21 in the same system without explicit priority picks.

How can we expect the league to be equalised when you allow the principles of it to be barstardised this much?

They manage to take something we look forward to all year - and make it as bland and boring as possible.

It's a real skill.
Yeah but before the night started you didn't know if Cooper Duff-Tytler could cook any Sri Lankan dishes but now you do! That's insight!
