Just did the ladder predictor and us finishing 11th isn't beyond the realms of possibility. To make matters worse, WC and Carlton will probably get Band 1, with the slimmest chance that Draper gets Dons one (surely not).

That's pick 10, with Annable, Uwland, Patterson, maybe Dean and King taken before our pick... we're looking at pick 13 or worse - that's rough after the year we've endured. That's why mid table is no man's land...

I'm still on Jevan, and there are names anywhere between pick 5 and 20 that could be decent. There's no sure thing this year apart from the 3 early academy boys - its time for Dalrymple to earn his pay check.
Just keep winning and as you mentioned, let Dalrymple and co. do their thing. I had the time of my life at the match on Sunday, and that moment will stay with me forever and shows what a win can do for a team.

Yeah I don't think there's as big a difference between say 6 and 15 this year. It kinda feels like you can throw a blanket over Greeves, Grlj, Farrow's, Dovaston, Baker, Ludwyke, Pou Jrn etc. I guess finishing higher makes it more likely that you get the player that you want and rate specifically, but talent wise they seem pretty similar outside of the top 3 or 4 in the open draft. Doesn't seem worth tanking to get say Greeves over Dovaston

Winning inspires players. Hopefully keeps those possibly wanting out. Attracts players who now want in.

I kept myself sane by telling my brain that losing was ok if we got a great draft pick. Particularly if we were playing alright. Which we have. But actually winning ain’t so bad!

Exactly this.

I don't get the people who want to trade Marshall out for Geelong's first rounder which will end up being in the 20's - in what is supposedly a weak draft. All that does is increases the odds we stay in the bottom 6 on the ladder for the next couple of years, which exacerbates the issue we already have of retaining and attracting talent.

And let's not forget the supporters. The drop off this season has been noticeable. Long suffering supporters have had a gutful. Kids are not wanting to follow their parents in barracking for St Kilda. They want their dopamine hit which they have been conditioned to want by social media.

Kye Fincher not selected for National draft, but included in state combine list

Jevan Phillipou selected for Nationals

Have a look at the QLD Academy (8) & Sydney Academy (4) invitee numbers. QLD has more than WA which is an orginal AFL footballing state and only 1 less than Vic Country. Surely those number alone concern the AFL when heart land states like WA arent producing as many kids as their manufactured clubs.

If I was involved in one of the WA clubs I would be screaming from the roof tops that they cant access the indigenous talent in the same manner as other state clubs, its down right discriminatory. Have a look at Collard as an example he is a kid who was in the WCE Academy and still requires a heap of development but they couldnt access him.

If that doesnt highlight how unbalanced the academy systems are then the AFL have other agendas and are not interested in an even competition !

Is he drunk?
Said in the video that those picks would form the basis of a deal to get St Kilda into that pick - ignores all the other bits and pieces that might be involved but don't affect the picks that are mocked in the video

Wow this draft expert has Jevan Phillipou at 5

Personally been on the Jevan bandwagon since we got Pou 1. Would love if we took him with our first . Which of course would mean we rate him very high.. looks like he has the attributes we are looking for

This draft expert says that Jevan Phillipou is a generational midfield talent

My understanding with Cal is that he usually goes off what clubs are suggesting right? Whereas Dylan goes into his own reasoning, and obviously sees some great signs with J Phillipou. Alan is also a huge fan, but I'm just not sure we get him.
