Voss could be a goer. How many lost spots do the Saints have left? I’m counting Byrnes at this current stage.
My understanding is that Byrnes needs to be delisted at some point to give us the 3 primary list spots for the draft. Given the delay in announcement, I'd suggest we will commit to re-rookie him.

Fincher, Caminiti upgrade and then either a Hall upgrade (not necessary) or a late bolter (Byrne, McGuane, etc.)..

The decision to play Fincher in the midfield in his VFL game when the u18 coaches weren't playing him there indicates we rate him as more then a half back and that our interest was high.

I'd be shocked if we didnt take him. I wouldnt be surprised if he was our only draftee and we use the other spots for summer train ons.

Don't we have to take at least x 2 at the national draft, the 3rd position can be a rookie upgrade.

This will be fun, we currently have next to nothing.

What if the bid comes in at 20. Think the club will still match?
I’d like to think we would.

If another club rates him better than ~30, that should only strengthen any assumed faith in him as a selection for us.

Not sure up to what level of pick with points we can match, but hypothetically say he moves up even more to be initially picked at 15 (not thinking this fyi), but means we would be getting a first rounder when our first pick is really only 50.

Would be mad not to do it - subject to point availability to match.

Eyes on Finn Davis
Ah yes! I remembered someone mentioned a Western Jet half back a while ago and couldn't remember the name. I thought he made the U18 AA team for Coates League, but he may have polled well in the Morrish Medal instead?

Out west, its usually been the Calder boys that we have gone to late of recent years with no intel (Garcia, Said), but Davis sounds like a really good prospect that hasn't got much attention.

Watching Max Holmes live over these last 2 weeks, I wonder if Tobie will end up being a similar player. Max isn't a perfect kick either but the other stuff he does makes up for it.

I know Will Day is the obvious comp but Holmes might be a better one.
Wilson similar to Max Holmes..quick, elite endurance and good over head..

If we do rate him we will match any bids that won't be an issue. I doubt this draft goes out much further than 50-60 so there will be clubs looking to cash in their later picks.

It's a common belief there is not huge depth in the draft, but I still would have liked to have seen Dalrymple given the chance of making a selection before Fincher.

I don't think we will resign Byrnes until after the draft. In case we do get another targetted kid or we can do a pick swap to get back in somewhere. Last year we used pick swaps exceptionally well.

As it stand, it's looking like we take Fincher and one other then upgrade a rookie. List spots remain tight, but we still have some flexibility between the rookie and main list so anything can happen on draft night.
Wonder if Jackson Voss is an option for us?

Mattaes said the same thing in his draft year. These brothers confidence is sky high.

The really rare thing with the Pou is that he has this sky high confidence that borders on arrogance but then none of the off-field stuff that comes with it. Sounds like a teetotaler by the sounds of things, ultra professional. Usually not the case!

I would be floored if we didn't take Fincher. Our first pick at around 50 will come in a fair way, a mid second rounder with be discounted a fair bit thanks to the fixed discount after the first round.

We'll either flog off one of those future 3rds to get points or we'll go into a tiny deficit. Either way, Kye looks a beauty and I look forward to having him in our colours.
Twomey's phantom draft is so accurate it more or less renders the draft a snooze-fest and he doesn't have Fincher going top 30. I'd say he's a lock to get to us.

Its not always that accurate a month or more out from the draft. He'll gather intel just before the draft which makes it super accurate a day or two out.
