Think Byrnes has the same photos of Ross that Robert Eddy had.

Eddy used to look like a footballer , but he could hardly get his hands on it, he had 20 disposals once. More often 11 or so. Byrnes at least gets it. He often gets 20 or more. OK , not the most effective touches, but better than running around after the ball and watching someone else get it.

J Pou / Pou #2 not in Twomey's top 30 ...

Ludowyke
Hibbins-Hargreaves
Greeves
Onley
Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier
Rory Wright

If a bid comes in before 36 and we go into deficit to match Fincher rather than hoping one of these players slides to our first pick, then it’ll be a bit annoying for mine

Both loved by Ross but play totally different roles . Both have a dip both have and had serious flaws in their games .

If I could select one it would be Ronny every day of the week .

I guess it will come down to who Dalrymple rates higher, personally I would only put J Pou, Hibbins-Hargrave and Ludowke ahead of Fincher from that list. We also have to remember our first pick is at #50 before all the other clubs match bids. Even if it comes into pick #40 the chance of one of that list being available would be very slim.

That's why live trading will be key. I feel like our 2nd night intel has generally been very good. Think trading into Boxshall just before Eagles, etc.

If we want someone and have an inkling for who wants them, I've got no doubt we will move that pick up using futures

100% and if we do that will dictate more of what we do with Fincher, not hoping someone will slide through to a pick between 40 & 50.

So average draft and Jevan won’t make the top 30, sounds like an emotional want rather than a need by the club. Hopefully we don’t trade up to get him.
There has been a lot of reporting that Geelong are keen on Phillipou. But Max Holmes’ brother is also available and could be drafted in the same range.

Interesting to see what the Cats do if both players are in the board. Mini-Holmes could also be an emotional want for them and he has his admirers among other clubs.

Not a single saint late whisper.

But nothing for JPou Ludowyke or Greaves either.

Some decent players will be gettable for F3s I reckon.

Don't have the picks, not willing to spend the currency to get the picks. We've already had our excitement for the year

This will make many dislike him but I see Billings in NHH's game. He doesn't consistently get big numbers but surely he doesn't last past 30.

Same for Jev, I was on him early days and still am. Heard someone say it the other day when talking about CDT, we spend too much time on what kids can't do rather than what they can. I'm all for a bit of figjam, most kids have that inner belief anyway - the Pou's are just a bit more open.

Ludowyke, saw him a few times last year and the kid can play. I doubt he drops right out of the first round but if he does, he'll be an absolute steal.

I'm genuinely surprised those 3 won't be taken in the teens.

What’s worse.

Not drafting Jevan OR drafting Jevan and de-listing him after 4 years?

Would rather a stab at a Ludowyke to fill a need.
I don’t think key forward is a need? King Marshall Sharman, with Caminiti and Keeler in the 2s, not to mention Dodson in years to come as a ruck/fwd. I see a few mention Key forward as an area of need, I think that is one area we have covered more than enough.

Yes we are the Seagulls of this draft.

We are just waiting to swoop on a tasty morsel should anything present, and it may not.

100%. Anything we get in the draft from our 1 or 2 picks is just a bonus from the lucky-dip barrel. Though maybe Dalrymple will work some magic by seeing talent that other have not.

If it is Fincher I will be content enough. But I will also be content with whomever we take with what in a weak draft is pretty low picks.

Mainly as cover for King, coz is he actually going to make it back? Has to be doubts surely.
