Kye Fincher watch

Played for Brighton Grammar on weekend v Wesley ... from Zerohangar

Meanwhile, in the APS competition, Archie Ludowyke was the dominant forward in Brighton Grammar's big win over Wesley, with Kye Fincher clinical in the midfield

Hard to find APS stats however Kye should play this weekend for Vic Metro??

Competition time.

How many Father Sons and NGA's will be selected in the top 30 picks this year?

What pick will the original pick 30 turn into?

I've found it interesting how we have picked players with late birthdays with almost all of our early picks lately

August - Wilson
October - Travaglia
November - Tauru, Barrat
December - Phillipou

Could well be a coincidence, but then there is also this post from the head of analytics & strategy at the club, showing the clear bias in perception towards players with early birthdays

I'd imagine this will likely smooth out as the year progresses, but perhaps not entirely. Tauru certainly came from the clouds as a top 10 pick

Remarkably Pou and Jagga Smith are only a month away from being in the same draft class. Pick 10 and pick 3 in their respective drafts... but who goes first in 2023 if Pou has one more year of top-age juniors under the belt and Jagga one fewer?

Granted it's one small element in a number of things but it'll be interesting to see if we go that way again. Ludowyke and Hibbins-Hargreaves (Nov bdays) might be around the mark at our pick this year.

We certainly have and Fincher is another one. (Pou was two drafts prior to Jagga)

The Scouting Notes from the rookieme site have been posted for the SA v Vic Metro game and disappointingly it doesn't feature Fincher with his 27 possessions

Though they did feature other VM players who got 11 & 13 disposals which is strange
Fincher stuffed the stats sheet but was hardly noticeable from what I saw

How invisible can you be having 18 kicks? ... 2nd most on the ground
Stream was down for the first quarter and a bit when he got a stack of footy - so no idea what was happening there

From the bits I saw he looked solid enough but would really like to see him run through the middle, it's hard to tell if he has much of a contested game. Racked them up similar to how Arie does in the VFL so can't read too much into the stats but at least he was out there providing an option

I feel like this happens a bit with NGA's or academy picks, fly under the radar a bit because only one team can get them

Given that also covers the start of the 2nd round I'm going to say that the original pick 30 ends up around pick 42.
