Honestly hope we don’t throw away any top picks for next year in the upcoming period. Archie Van Dyke and Kodah Edwards 2 cracking SA midfield prospects. Both well performed as underages this year in the U18 comp.
Wearing my South Adelaide hat once again, as I see these kids every weekend. Love what these two do each week. Van Dyk is absolute class, while Edwards is an absolute clearance beast. Been resting forward more in recent weeks and has been kicking bags.

Would we really be in the ladder so low we could draft these guys?

SA were dominant during the Champs .... thats where I would be looking and asking why they were so much better .... Sharp / Barker / LeRay / Cummings / Oudshoorn-Bennier / Schubert ...... Farrow looks ok as well from WA but plays predominantly across the back half ..... can Cody Curtin become as good as his brother? .... Then from Vic there is Greeves who looks a bit of a man child and a little slow & Duursma worries me that he will flop like his brothers .... there could be a few diamonds in the rough but disposal & overhead skills & decision making are a priority .... no kick scrubbers please

Tell ya what. If we are after a mid I reckon the local boy Jack Doltan wouldn’t be a bad get. Had an elite backend after injury. If he plays well in the finals he will be right in out hitting zone

Haven’t seen as much of them this year but tracked them. Both look superb talents (and will go under the radar with Pilot taking the limelight.) Both have qualities to make it at the next level. Without knowing probably as well as you know them what player comparisons would you give them?

He is only 177cm and an average kick. Can rack up the pill with ease but there are deficiencies in his game - although they're the same concerns clubs had on Lachie Neale

His range is probably around the late second early third round atm

I reckon clubs would prefer Rory Wright - the other Sandy Drags mid - who has a piercing left boot

Arki Butler (Dragons) if we are looking to bolster our small dynamic forward set up .... got a lot of tricks and is a strong overhead mark for a smaller forward
Just learnt he will be in next years draft.

Your club’s current draft hand, and what they could do with it

ST KILDA

Current Picks: 7, 43, 58

The Saints look determined to bolster their list through free agency and trade acquisitions this year, with Tom De Koning, Leek Aleer and Liam Ryan all strongly linked to the club.

De Koning won’t cost them anything more than cash as a free agent, but trade deals will need to be done for Aleer and Ryan.

Aleer is out of contract but not a free agent, while Ryan is contracted with West Coast until the end of next year.

That means St Kilda’s draft hand could change a bit in the months ahead, so it is a watch-this-space.

The Saints have access to halfback or midfielder Kye Fincher through their NGA program this year, who starred with 26 disposals, four clearances and six tackles in a recent VFL debut for Sandringham.

Fincher has emerged as a likely second-round prospect, after also impressing for Vic Metro during the under-18 national championships.

It's hard to give comparisons, but Van Dyk is the more likely to get picked up next year. He will have plenty of suiters, as he has a really good inside/outside balance, uses the ball pretty well and has a great work rate that makes him a goal threat.

Interestingly, he is still growing. I think he has grown a couple of centimetres this year and is now around 188cm, which is already a good size. Would be interesting to see if he gets to 190cm.

Edwards is more a ball-winning inside midfielder who wins a lot of clearances at U18 level. Kodah is very dynamic and powerful. I can see him developing into a bull that can rest forward. He's kicked 14 goals in the last five games, while averaging around 20 touches. Will be one to watch.

Another two to watch next year would be Angus White and Can Florance.

I liked White with what I saw of him last year. Great overhead for his size and tough as a cats head. Florence looks good. Watched him rack up posies for fun one game last year, recall him having like 17 in a qtr.
South seem to have something in the water, have been producing several quality players over the last few seasons.

Noah Hibbins Hargreaves getting a bit of a roll on. Looks to be playing more midfield recently. A lazy 29 and 5 goals a couple of weeks back for Dandenong. Looks a clever forward and more likely that’s his spot. For experts, is Hayward a likeness?

Not an expert but imo he's more a Harry Sheezel type (not as good but similar play styles)

I think he could possibly start his career at HB

Im no expert and haven't seen a great deal this year, but that 29 and 5 game was as a midfielder. He looks like a great option based on the fact that the standards are much lower when watching this year's draftees.

Might want to give away that no look over the head handball if he is anywhere near Ross though.

I see a bit of Rowbottom in his game.
