The purpose of the Academies was to nurture young talent who otherwise might not have pursued the game of AFL (and pry them from other sports). Bodhi Uwland, Pick #2, was a lifelong AFL fan.

The Academy system has become a joke and the game needs to adapt. Keep Father/Son, scrap (or tweak) the Academies.

Any means to that end is fair game, no matter how inequitable it is. And the 'make up the numbers' clubs like St.Kilda are irrelevant in the light of that goal.
