That's why we can't trade a pick in thats in between 34 & 40.

I'd go hard for 29 and a future with 2027 F1 to get JPou. Accept the bid for Fincher and hope we can use the change and 2027 thirds to get a pick for Ludowyke.
I'd be very nervous about trading an F1 to get into this draft which seems to be fairly average.

Great post...
Speaking of the media tripe....(I posted this on the Media threead -sorry bout the double, but I think it is important that we never feel ashamed of the NEPO baby prod)

...
I was chaffing at the bit this morning. SEN Sam Edmond and ‘Coons’ were taking calls about the draft and posturing about how good the Nirthern Academies are at the expense of callers who felt genuinely miffed that the Subs get given advantages. It was appalling. I generally have some respect for Edmond but I’m losing it. This was pure posturing.
Caller: AFL are helping Gold Coast win and they won’t stop til they get a flag
Edmond and Coons: disagree - we are getting players up there involved in footy.
What a croc?
Why are we here?
We love our team!
We demand a level playing field!!
These guys just want to create tension - fair enough. But when they spit this kind of tripe - conflating the spread of the game with unfair practice they are really stepping over the line. I hope someone calls them out for it. But I know that controversy never harms them.
I love when the company line is rolled out. Yet they never explain why those clubs need a massive discount to get those players involved.

Where does one find what picks were used to match the bids? Like club xx used picks 34, 37, 42 to select player x at pick 12?
I was here for the same thing. It's taking some doing, the broadcast didn't show it last night so a decision was made NOT to, The AFL site has no info on it at all, suss as ****

Broadcast absolutely pathetic.

1 huge gripe other than the cringe Ben Dixon interviews is when a player is bid on what the hell is the big secret.

Instead of Bid pending what’s wrong with actually saying who the player is that’s been bid on.

Ridiculous.

I dont mind it, its for the draftees more than the fans.

If you're the player and you see you were bid on, your celebration would be diminished a bit waiting to find out where you're actually going. Let's them still have their moment where their name is called out and they know who they're playing for.

Well last night I got to attend Draft Night, probably my one and only time that I will get to do so.

My wife and I attended as guests of Dylan Patterson who is related to my wife. We had watched him play at various games since he was a young boy including some VFL games this year. Initially the Lions added to him to their development program when he was 10, and his father later moved him to the Suns in his teens.

We arrived for the pre-draft gathering to meet everyone in Dylan's Group including his managers, and then moved over to Marvel at about 6PM for the official pre-Draft Function.

It was certainly a buzz to be part of the excitement of draft night, and all the moreso as Dylan was expected to go early and so was attracting extra attention. It was good sharing his joy, along with his father, sister and other family members.

It was a pity that there was no St Kilda Draft involvement on the night.

Post -draft we were all invited to the Sun's private post-Draft Function. Which actually turned into a mixed event as 3 other AFL Clubs were using the same venue.

The afternoon and night was also the first time I have had good one on one conversations with Player Managers. Over the 6 odd ours we were together, the two managers were certainly generous with their insights and information. I will not breech any confidences as we were there as Dylan's and their guests. But as they manage Taura, Aleer and Dylan it was certainly interesting.

Was this the same Aleer manager that had the public meltdown?

Suns not only got 2 & 5. They got four academy first rounders, on top of giving up two top tens for Petracca. That is a total f***** joke. They finished 6th and including the Flanders trade they had 6 first rounders. Yep the draft is all about equalisation.
Luckily it’s a shit draft

Joke is on GWS because .... GWS (Rob Riggle) tries to shoot Saints (Jonah Hill) but ends up shooting Gold Coast (Channing Tatum) and then Saints (Jonah Hill) in the mayhem shoots GWS (Rob Riggle) severing his penis

So Saints win in the end .... and GWS end up with no dick :thumbsu:
Is this a documentary?
