Best guess is they did those photos/article this morning after exit interviews for those players yesterday, then Billings had his exit interview today so they added him in.
Really just speaks to how bad the internal comms still are that this stuff isn't thought out enough to avoid these kinds of mistakes.

There was about a 6 week period after Green took over where our comms were great, now they've gone back to worse than before. Feels like anything marketing/comms is the last thing on our list to actually invest in. I think the person in charge of comms had the AFLW program added to their job, like here do this to? (Or something like that)

Out: Brown, Hore, Billings, Verrall, Fullerton, Sestan

In: Derksen, Heath, White, Sinemma, AMW, Mcadam

Will need more delistings if we want to add any actual best 22 players. Feels like we are just turning over our VFL squad.

Yeah Clare Pettyfor I think. She was at Collingwood and the 2IC of Graham Wright I think. IIRC there was some frustrations when he had his sabbatical and she left in the midst of that while holding the role of General Footy Manager.

Came back here as a comms boss then took Marcus Wagner's job as the AFLW boss earlier this year.

Seems like she has pretty clear ambitions outside of being a PR boss.

Trac coming 2nd in best and fairest feels like a pisstake
🎓 for trading. If he doesnt finish high in the BNF clubs lowball you, get with the program mate. This is why Danster is in charge of our trades and not you

So they wanted his former coach to announce his sacking at a club event? Bizarre.
To be honest I am still trying to work it out how they came to this conclusion that separating Billings delisting from earlier reports today only to save it in front of your best and fairest night in front of a public audience was the right option.

Its almost like the club and its comms want to continue to find ways in how us supporters can continue to hate this club even more.

I'm loving all of these delistings. Could easily do another 5 with absolutely no loss. I don't know why people feel like the new coach needs to be there for the delistings. The new coach wouldn't have a clue about guys like Brown, Sestan, Verrall etc. The only ones that can make this decision is the ones that have tracked them closely for 2+ years. I don't think Buckley would even know what those 3 look like, let alone how they play.

Did Troy Chaplin and Tim Lamb LIE to Jack Billings?

To be fair our best 22 still looks exactly the same despite the delistings. We will need bigger shake up if we want to actually improve at all, otherwise it’s just rotating the Casey deck chairs.

What’s the love with Sestan? Was he actually any good?
He looked promising at Casey as a good ball user off half back. I'm not devastated to see him desisted, but it looked like there was something to work with.

As per Guy Threepwood he is a good (but not phenomenal) ball user. The half back experiment was new for 2025 after he was first a forward (his junior position) and then has some midfield stints too in 2024.

I have no inside knowledge but my guess would be after three years of working with his body the conclusion was he will never get an AFL ready body.

He’s got that naturally chunky build and while he’s fined down a bit over the years he’s a bit stuck in between.

Not tall enough for his lack of pace and agility. Not fast or agile enough for his lack of height. That hasn’t seemed to harm Salem though!
