Is Flanders good? Hard to judge his career so far. Had some very good patches and seems to be flexible in terms of playing different roles.

But he also doesn’t dominate regularly.

Was good last year in the midfield. Got pushed out this year and was a bit so-so.

If we got him you would want him in the on ball rotation, and doubt he would entertain a club where he isn’t to be honest.

It’s interesting we are going for inside mids. Considering we already have an army of them. May mean we have some on the out.

Definitely.

Let’s say we trade Oliver to the Crows for their late first round pick and pay ~ $400k of his salary.

Then trade the Crows’ pick to the Suns for Flanders with the rest of the Oliver money.

That’d be a net improvement, yeah?

Another day of not being linked to a key position forward. Nevermind that we still haven't replaced David Neitz who retired in 2007........

Is it just me or do we seem to keep identifying guys not getting games at their current club, we trade for them and then they wind up not being able to get games here?

Seems pretty fitting we are targeting Derksen in the same trade period Fullarton and Billings are getting delisted.
It's just the reality of the market tbh, most scrap heap pick-ups are a bit of a throw at the stumps.

For every D'Ambrosio, Macrae, Chol-type pickup, there's a million Dow, Billings, Fullarton, Sharp, Fantasia, Burgess, Naismith etc types.

Granted, we've more than met our quota over the past few seasons, but that was partially due to how hamstrung we were in terms of cap space.

So he wants us to trade in a good player like Flanders, but he also wants to complain that we had to trade something good for him...

lol how is that a complaint? Stating what he would cost? Good grief, strange interpretation from a one liner.

God forbid we discuss potential trade prices in a trade thread now.

I have been going on about this last few pages. Not seeing much impact to our best 22 on ins/outs so far.

Realistically, how many 'best 22 ins/outs' are you expecting to see a month before trade period starts, while we don't have a coach?

Feels like our throws are from the non-preferred hand, on an off day. Consistently.

When prospecting, you might turn over a few tin cans before finding gold.

Especially working already worked sites.

Virgin sites are from the draft, or rookies.

Bad list management, from the top... president, ceo, football boss and list manager down.

Most trades are discussed / canvassed before trade period starts. Fairly certain we would know about a higher % of prospective trades before it actually starts than we find out mid-trade period.

Look at last year, Trac tried to get a trade during actual trade period and it went to shit. Also not having a coach hasn’t stopped us making another 6-7 changes.
