Wilkie, Marshall and Steele all looking at exiting St Kilda (not to mention Windhager unconfirmed). After all that bluster, if they lose those three and bring in TDK, Ryan, Silvagni and Aleer, have they really improved their list? If they lose Wilkie, I'd say no.
Steele wasn't best 22 by the end of the year. TDK is better than Marshall. Ryan and Silvagni are both very good. I'd say yes

Agree Steele isn't a loss. Silvagni is solid, but doesn't hold a candle to Wilkie. TDK marginally better than Marshall.

Just considering what they're rumoured to be paying these guys, it just feels like it'd be a bit of a sideways step given where they're at. A week ago, they were awarding themselves next year's flag.

Silvagni is still a plus, Wilkie hasn't decided to leave yet.
TDK younger and much higher scope than Marshall. Marshalls meh
Ryan is a good small forward, we could have used him seeing as we're flag contenders next year

Think TDK has more weapons than Marshall.

Yeah, should make it clear that this assessment is if Wilkie goes. If him and Windhager stay, they would've improved

Can actually win hitouts (unlike Marshall), so that's a plus. I just think $1.7 million for TDK vs ~$900k for Marshall is bad business, considering that TDK isn't an A-Grader and still struggles to run out full games in the ruck.

The money is definitely a big gamble.

He could be an A grader though and they'll probably smooth the money out. It's alot I agree and he could fail with the pressure but TDK does have scope to be a gun

If we could get one of Windhager or Flanders, who’d be better for us?
I’m going to say Flanders simply because Windhager is too similar to what Melbourne already have. A big mid who butchers it by foot.

Flanders seems more versatile and is a better but not elite kick.

Flanders for the talent/ability to kick the ball (providing we develop Rivers as a defensive mid – we're still very light on mids that run both ways otherwise)

Every stoppage Simpkin flicks his fringe into place. I kid you not. every stoppage. Does my head in. A pass for me. But yeah, Flanders/Heath etc. aren't moving the needle. It's Windhager or nothing to get me interested in 2026.
