As I mentioned a couple of times earlier, Collingwood had to be given an incentive to help us out. Why would they take a Pick 71 to 61 upgrade by itself just to assist us with our compo pick? In that case, they would have been better off losing Mihocek for nothing, given that neither of those picks are worth anything.

And flipping a future third for a current second isn't really an enticing deal for clubs, especially given many are after the points to try and trade up for some of GC's picks.

Why incentivise them? His a free agent?

As I said, we could have just traded it into this year and got even more points if that’s what we needed.

I care about the F3, which we could have traded into this year if we really needed points.
That's basically what we did though. In effect we traded it for pick 42.

Pick 42 would have still existed. It would have become a pick around 60, but it would have probably then come back in to about 50.

So we gave up a F3 to stop sliding from pick 42 to 50 basically. Despite also sliding from 61 to 71 anyway.

So Pick 60 drops to Pick 50, but Pick 42 doesn't drop at all. Gotcha

Maybe stick to your day job and don't apply for any up coming list manager jobs.

Also I'm calling you Melt0 from now on. You just can't go one post without melting about something, even shit that is really insignificant like late pick swaps.

Love that there has been melting and arguments over a future 3rd for 2 pages now. Only on the Dees bigfooty board.
I woke up this morning to three unread pages and thought 'wow something exciting must have happened'

Nothing exciting happened

While Lamb continues to piss away 2nd and 3rd rounders, especially on free agents I will be Melt0

Just reflecting on what we’ve heard from various Melbourne sources - mostly Lamb.

When talking about Mihocek the topic of young tall forwards comes up. It’s JVR, Jeffo, Kentfield and even AJ being young in AFL experience terms. But Petty has never been mentioned.

Derksen not being pursued is interesting and with May being pushed out the young defenders are brought up - being Adams and Turner.

Where is Petty in all of this? I know he’s not young in an AFL sense so maybe didn’t fit the narrative.

My read is Petty will probably be in the backline (which is good) but it is strange that hasn’t been made clear.

Don't forget May out too. Petty will 100% be going back - Praise the Lord (or King).
