I think we're way too high. Other than Grundy, we haven't attracted a star since Franklin.

We don't tend to get the middle tier players much either. It's usually scraps no one wants
Yeah what a bunch of bullshit, Buddy, Grundy, and nothing in between for 10 years.

Totally unrelated to this trade period, but Josh Gabelich earlier on Trade Radio confirmed we did offer Sam Frost a 3 year contract last year, but he chose to stay at Hawthorn - and has now been delisted.
With Barrass and Battle coming into a team that already had Scrimshaw, Sicily and Hardwick, surely he knew he was well back to be a regular in Hawks defence. Can only assume he really did not want to either live in Sydney and / or play for us. Is Sydney really that awful to live in and are we that despised that players prefer to play VFL?

Tend to agree but if you want to widen the definition of "destination" we've been able to retain our out of state draftees, which is an issue for other clubs.

I dont think having Mclean on the list is an issue, the issue is he appears to be a walk up start each week, he is a player who should feel his spot is under pressure and performing is the only way to avoid being dropped. Sadly that isn't the case with our list atm, his development has stalled due to the lack of competition he is facing.
I don’t think his development has stalled due to a lack of competitiveness. I think Doss has maxed out his extremely limited ceiling as a player and with a disrupted preseason last year it probably showcased how much effort he puts in to even get a gig at top level.

Hayden McLean is by far one of the hardest workers at the club and I think he’s probably one of the last players in our team that takes his time in the AFL for granted. If Amartey had even half of his discipline, I reckon he could be one of the top 10 forwards in the competition.

I think 2023 Doss was the maxed out Doss. We havn't seen that since. If he could produce that again then we'd be laughing. And I think if undisrupted Amartey will eventually become top 10 if not better - he'd be right up there with the usual suspects in Mckay, Curnow, jezz, Georgiadis, Hogan, Thilthorpe and Oscar Allen in terms of physical ability to run, jump and take a contested grab.

Say Geelong are unable to trade for curnow. What would we offer that would likely be accepted by Carlton? Is pick 9 and future 1st round pick sufficient?

Doubt it. Bear in mind pick 9 becomes pick 12-14 and next years draft pick would be swallowed by a Jed Walker bid. They are going to want a fair bit more whether that’s involving a third club or us maybe it’s trading a Rowbottom for another top 25 pick or something. My gut feeling is that’s way under the odds

The Finnbar Maley rubbish is up there with the cheese toastie posts. Are you there refreshing the thread to see the laugh emojis ?

And that's right I'm not fun at parties. And I don't get invited anyway for some unknown reason.
I'd invite you to my party

Extending the likes of Heeney, Gulden, Mills, Blakey and Chad together, mostly with a minimum of fuss, is no mean feat.

Apart from Dawson when was the last time we lost someone we wanted to keep?
