Very interesting prospect. Bit scrappy skills wise, but absolutely could be a raw version of his brother. Not the classic connector type we probably need, but one of many seemingly hidden gems in this so-called poor draft.
I don’t see (many) junior games other than state and futures, just keep a very close eye on all the feedback sources and research from there.

I think so, but there was a young fella that bobbed up from Vic Country and may be someone clubs would prefer as they can get him cheaper.
I think Dovaston will be in the league a long time, elite pressure and kicks goals
Probably yes. I really rate him. Considering our dearth of quality small forwards id have him high on the list overall.

Playing vfl with Box Hill today.
Was much more composed with the footy than I anticipated. Would improve our speed immediately.
That’s what I think will happen, we should be getting into bed with a club like Gold Coast by trading out and back in if needed

Other teams have done it, dont see it as being risky at all, i still dont see a bid coming before our pick which is currently 6.

Was very underwhelming in the championships games. Was watching closely given hype and our positional needs. Need more perspective re competitiveness of the game.
I would be having a close look at Hargreaves. Moves well. Shows some really good agility at times. Very good mark for a medium size forward. Skills look good. Looks like a flanker type who could run through the midfield. Would play a bit more of an outside role in midfield. Would like to know more about his contested game.
If Carlton’s after forward half players he should be on the shortlist.

Why would we do that? It would be great to have a pick before Dean to pick up the likes of Sam Grlj. But if the bid for Dean comes in and you trade out the compo pick what are you going to use to match the bid for Dean? A ham sandwich? We need that pick to match Dean. If his bid comes after our compo pick then we will have less points to make up. So we can then use the JSOS compo pick.

To maximise the value of the pick? Pretty obvious, and something many clubs have done before in draft night.
Gold Coast have a couple of academy players to pay for in the first round, they NEED to maximise their draft hand.

Theres just so much to like about Grlj in terms of upside. Still the size of a cheese stick but looks like a more developed Holmes at the same age. The evasiveness and acceleration would be a sight for sore eyes in our team.

This was a really polished performance from Grlj. That chain from half back to half forward in the 2nd quarter was dazzling. Would love to see him running in a wave alongside Walsh, Jagga and Cody in a couple of years.
Just need to get one pick in ahead of the Dean bid.

Looking at Twomey’s August phantom form guide it’s goin to be hard for us to pick up a young gun mid with our projected draft picks - he has Dean at 8 and ahead of Dean are slim pickings for players we can get (thanks to academy players) or need (eg inside mids). Someone like Lindsay could suit us but Twomey has him at 7 which is #4 excluding academy picks and will be hard for us to get pick 4 with what we get for TDK and Jack.

I've moved on from getting a pick in before Dean. Depending on what the corrupt *s do at AFL house we may even need to swap into next year's draft
