What are draft watchers thoughts about Louie Emmett? I think he moves very well for a big man.

What are the main differences between he and CDT?
Number 2 on my KPF/Ruck rankings behind only Schubert. Plays very aggressively and is a great runner for his size. Also seems to have a great connection with Ison delivering inside 50.

Please tell me you've heard something?

I haven't ... but I was trying to piece together a bit of mail re: a tall prospect we are very keen on. But Emmett doesn't fit the description :(

A while back someone out of the blue asked questions regarding a tall who was highly rated, but missed most of the season we were looking at. Eventually “remembered” Liam Hetherton.

Harry Dean?

The comment that worries me is: "....this is a man against boys key defender."

Just hope he tracks better than Murray Vance.
when he was saying it, I didn’t think it came across like he was saying ‘man child’ who dominates purely by being bigger/stronger than the other kids.

Think he mentioned that Dean did really well against opponents of all sizes, bigger and smaller than himself.

Different kettle of fish at AFL Level - there is all manner of manchild draftees that lorded it over at Under 18's level and have struggled and failed at AFL Level.

Believe me I want Harry Dean to succeed as much as everyone here - but we can't throw him to the wolves next year and just expect him to hold his own, and with our current dearth of KPP's I fear that is what we might do.

If Dean is playing next year he'll be playing as a third tall interceptor at most. I'm a huge fan but he'd get killed playing lockdown in his first year, he doesn't have the same leap and closing speed on the lead as HOF who was able to get away with defending his opponent without too much wrestling.

I just remember what we expected Matthew Watson to do in his first 5 games - two of which were playing on Travis Cloke in his pomp - I think that finished Watson before he even started.

What type of player is he? I was a bit surprised that Collingwood have passed, as i assumed he was going to go in the 3rd or 4th round.
I'd liken him to Jack Macrae if he was 178cm and 70kgs instead of 190cm and 90kgs.

So basically, gets heaps of the ball just tracking from contest to contest but doesn't do much with it and is a liability defensively instead of being fairly sound like Macrae is.

A classic accumulator really, just very slight of frame and uninspiring athletically.

Thanks, is he considered a first round prospect?

Would probably have been pre season, but has fallen off the map. Probably a discount type now. Anyone’s guess.
Available footage suggests he's got a lot of the athletic tools to be a star tall, but wow the regular fumbling of simple gathers and marks is terrible, as is the inconsistency of his kicking technique.

If he'd put it all together and not gotten injured, he'd probably have gone number 1, but he did neither.

I’m super excited by Dean and Ison. If we can land these two plus add 4 best 22 “depth players” via trades in positions of need and have enough points for Cody next year Austin and co have done their job. I recall seeing clips from the club and via Blueabroad over the summer and Ison did not look out of place, in fact he looked bloody exciting. Unsure on his character, but his athletic profile and skillset excite me greatly.

I had so high hopes for Murray, until I saw him play in the magoos one day......to think we could have selected Lenny Hayes or Jude Bolton

We had this weird recruiting philosophy back then (I think it was Shane O’Sullivan) of recruiting 188cm key position players in the TAC hoping that they’d grow a few centimetres- Vance was one of those, Trent Sporn another. 😡
